They don't want to die there.

The park seems to do enough to keep the guests riding as close to fear as possible but with the main kicker being that, you won't be killed by a host. A massacre of hosts and guests certainly won't sell tickets to the park.
I think WestWorld missed a huge opportunity, I want to see the Samurais fight the Cowboys, then the Dinosaurs get in there and in the meantime someone runs through another section of the park and we see Rick and Negan hosts being worked on...

for some reason, the awakening of Armistice reminded me of the Amazing Spider-Man vs. Lizard fight in the high school library, with oblivious Stan Lee humming along to his headphones in the foreground.

except the Westworld version was a homicidal naked snake tattoo robot feeding a technician his own finger, while another technician doesn't notice because he's too busy masturbating to another naked robot, while wearing headphones. which one is more ridiculous? I honestly don't know.

One thing I hope they expand on in season 2 is why there is so much of the facility left to abandonment and ruin

Yes. I wondered about that when Bernard accessed the old GPS system. And again was wandering down in the old facility below the church with all the dead bodies strewn about.

Meh....it kind of makes sense, as the park has been around for so long. Calaway park has several areas that look like they've been left to abandon and ruin, and it's a tiny fraction of the size.

That weird sort of Hanna Barbara themed haunted house looked like was in ruin when I used to go there 25 years ago, and somehow its still around.

Sometimes it's cheaper to build new as opposed to renovating/upgrading.

Her body is physically out in the park, and the interaction in the basement we see with Bernard is some sort of virtual projection.

I was wondering how Bernard can steal away this prominent host and interview her without anyone bothering him about it, but if all he's doing is a remote chat, it makes a lot more sense.
So I remembered this comment and thought it was interesting.

The conversations with Arnold in the early episodes might actually be Delores dreaming and talking to her emerging consciousness. Though some of them had specific park park actions in them. And some were with Robot Bernard.

This show with the last episode warrants all past episodes in sequence being watched again. Brilliant.

Excellent season finale... just like many of the episodes, it answers many of your questions while creating entirely new questions for you to ponder!

Very intriguing show. I'll miss it, can't believe it's been 10 weeks already!

Here's the post-credits scene for anyone who missed it...

"Cease all motor functions!"

I hope Armistice becomes a more prominent character in season 2.

It's going to hard to wait another year and half for this series, but it was so good and love how it has drawn everything back to the the simple /yet very complicated question who is alive/conscious. Watching blade runner almost makes it seem like like a sequel or later story that this plot.

The SW logo caught my attention instantly and then I remembered Arnold telling Delores, "Welcome to World", implying that it wasn't just West World. It'll be interesting to see how big this really becomes.

Well that's about as arrogant an intro as I can think of to an article, haha.

Westworld’s first season is over. Whether you fall into the shocked and delighted camp, or you saw every twist coming like the rest of us tinfoil hat Cassandras at The Verge, there is common ground to unite us: the show’s music was fantastic, and now it’s available online in its entirety in a variety of places.
Anyways, the whole point of those arrangements in the show was to be short and tie into the mood of the show itself. I think if anyone is downloading/streaming this soundtrack thinking it will be cool to listen to independent of the context of the show they'll be pretty disappointed at how simple/boring they are on their own and full length.

I've listened to a bunch of them and I think they sound great. Anyone who is into soundtrack music and or instrumentals will like it.

Fine, I'll be less snobby and curmudgeonly and give it a listen.
