That's true but Darryl also has a history with Dwight as well, that may have given Negan some extra motivation to take out Darryl.

It was only a thought because of the talk between Rick and Negan. The only reason I don't think it's Abe is that it's been played off as a major character and while I feel Abe is a good, I think he's a little short of being a primary character like Glenn.

I would almost be disappointed if I were someone other than someone from the first two seasons.

I took that scene to mean that Rick was literally getting his right hand (or arm) cut off. Not that he just lost his right hand man.

The thing that I find strange is that they go into the trailer alone. What if Rick kills him right then and there? He has a bat and an axe. So what?

Sure he has some leverage outside, but if Rick kills him and walks out of that trailer what are they going to do?

I wonder if they do this episode out of sequence like they did the season opener at terminus. Maybe it starts or ends with this scene and the rest of the episode revolves around Carole and Morgan gathering allies to save their group.

Rick kills Negan in the RV and he can kiss Carl good bye. They all know Carl is his kid and most likely he would be the first to go then the entire group would probably be slaughtered in front of Rick.

Or maybe just some fingers? Losing a hand is pretty drastic, not from the show point of view, more just the basic logistics of how Rick does little stuff. How does he reload his gun etc?

Though then he could put a chainsaw on his arm and change his name from Rick to Rash.

Why are you guys assuming Rick's hand is hurt/maimed? Did I miss something?

The final scene was Negan bashing an unknown victim as far as I remember.

EDIT: NVM. I gathered something happened in that trailer. I refuse to watch trailers and I just let events unfold

My wife and I are re-watching the last season as a refresher, and interestingly enough if you check IMDB the last season has the highest rated and lowest rated episodes.

Oddly enough the finale was the lowest rated episode in series history (on IMDB FWIW), okay, interesting. Considering I sat through entire season of farming I really wanted to figure this out.

The only sense I can get on IMDB raters is that TWD fans are pretty fickle but with a sense of humour. I think the season finale had at least 3 mind-numbingly bad 'Rick Speeches.'

"We can do this! We've done it before! We can do anything! Together!!"

So, yeah, while I dont think it was the worst episode of the Walking Dead ever made, I can see their point so I'll acknowledge that.

When an episode that iconic ends that way I can understand that you can tend to forget a lot of the crap that happened before it.

Watch the episode again. You'll see. On the scale of Rick speeches from 1-10 those are 'Edmonton.'

So like -11.
