Dissecting the Islanders...
Scoring line 1:
LW Zach Parise (79 SC / 68 DF / 72 OV)
C Joe Pavelski (70 SC / 77 DF / 71 OV)
RW Kevin Labanc (69 SC / 56 DF / 67 OV)
Definitely an older line... but it's got a lot of scoring talent on it.
Scoring line 2:
LW James Neal (78 SC / 59 DF / 70 OV)
C Jeff Carter (75 SC / 69 DF / 69 OV)
RW Drake Caggiula (71 SC / 69 DF / 65 OV)
Caggiula adds some speed to this line. Neal should score 25-30. Not a lot of defensive deployments for these guys.
Utility line:
LW Lars Eller (72 SC / 84 DF / 72 OV)
C Adam Gaudette (69 SC / 58 DF / 67 OV)
RW Josh Archibald (90 CK / 68 SC / 84 DF / 66 OV)
Eller can pull the defensive weight on this line while also being a formidable scoring threat. Gaudette and Archibald are two young guys with tons of speed and upside.
Checking line:
LW Pierre-Edouard Bellemare (63 SC / 89 DF / 67 OV)
C Nic Dowd (63 SC / 89 DF / 67 OV)
RW Cal Clutterbuck (97 CK / 59 SC / 89 DF / 65 OV)
This line will probably allow a goal once a month. They're all solid as can be.
Extra forwards:
LW Matt Martin (99 CK / 60 SC / 58 DF / 61 OV)
C Riley Sheahan (62 SC / 80 DF / 65 OV)
Defense pair 1:
LD Ryan McDonagh (54 SC / 90 DF / 70 OV)
RD Tyler Myers (65 SC / 79 DF / 71 OV)
This is a bona-fide top pairing. McDonagh is highly-paid but he has the highest DF rating in the entire CPHL. Myers is a double threat.
Defense pair 2:
LD Marcus Pettersson (55 SC / 74 DF / 68 OV)
RD Anton Stralman (62 SC / 82 DF / 69 OV)
Pettersson is a young guy on the rise. He reminds me of Rasmus Andersson in a lot of ways. Stralman is still a top minute-munching #3/4 guy even in his mid-30s.
Defense pair 3:
LD Nick Leddy (59 SC / 66 DF / 69 OV)
RD Troy Stecher (62 SC / 68 DF / 66 OV)
Leddy is a good minute-muncher. Stecher is a nice young dman with upside.
Goalies:
Robin Lehner (85 OV)
Pavel Francouz (82 OV)
Really like this tandem. Hope I can afford Francouz.
In summation: please trade me a defenseman for one of my extra forwards! Hope you enjoyed the read. We're gonna be good!(?)

And it's all irrelevant anyways.
You are $20M over your cap with 15 players signed.
You need to sign your RFAs which will cost you about $5M, pushing you to $25M over the cap.
Your roster will look nothing like this and will need to be gutted again to clear that cap before the season starts anyways.
And with a lot teams capped out they probably aren't going to be looking to deal with you prior to UFA opening up, so means you likely don't even get a chance to re-sign Schultz or Francouz since you won't have the $5M in open cap space you need to do so.

Not sure where the 25 million is coming from! Very inaccurate figure! Maybe that's why you were fired!

Why because you're afraid of losing to us again in the playoffs?

the funny thing is: when I saw Captains post about the trade and his reasons, I thought "wow, what a great opportunity for a team that has cap space and can take advantage of another team's cap crunch" ... and then you see it was actually a team in an even bigger cap crunch making the deal
I mean, you have to marvel at it in a way. I certainly couldn't plunge into that sort of cap hell and deal with it, it would freak me out

Geez my name is now being used to described management issues within an organization.
I knew I should have put a patent on it.
Or a ring or whatever.

I'm a former GM TSN Analyst, I don't do math to actually understand your teams cap problems. I just throw numbers out there and say you're crazy.
Plus I'm assuming it will just reach $25M at some point.

It's social distancing right now.
So dress shirt, suit jacket, tie around my head like Rambo, no pants
