I was at a Much Music video dance party at my Jr High. Humble Howard came on the screen and let us know that the Flames had won the cup.

Playing soccer at Frank McCool.

Happy for that, I was too nervous as a 13 year old to watch most of the playoffs that year. Game ended just before ours did, the car horn honks from parents who were listening to the game in the cars made that clear.

A quick drive to the old 711 where they were giving free slurpees, then to Acadia drive median to celebrate!

Ten years old, watching with my Dad in the basement.

When they won, me and my younger sisters ran outside with our Flames' signs to get cars to honk as they drove by. I remember the cars honking from all over in the distance as well.

I was 14. We were at home watching the game with some family friends. I remember my sister and I running outside, dancing in the street, and honking the car horn along with the rest of the neighborhood. So fun!

Went to the Cup parade a couple days later and got to high-five Theo Fleury, who happened to be my favorite player at the time. One of the best days ever.

Back in 89, I wasn't even moved to Canada yet. Back then I did not know what is hockey, or who are the Calgary Flames. But as my family came to Calgary, I fell in love with the sport and our local hockey heroes, even though it was during the dark years...

My Dad made me go to my prep Babe Ruth Baseball game that night. Prep Babe Ruth sucked as an undersized 13 year old going to a full size Baseball diamond was too much...His reasoning you only play like 12 games and I was going to miss 2 the next week on a class trip to Toronto.
He sat in the car and listened to the game because at night you could pick up the AM signal in Cranbrook. After my game the Flames game was over and it was post game show. I can't remember if my team won or not that night. I remember not wanting to go through

I was 13, and was at home watching it on TV. I didn't appreciate it as much as I should have though. I figured we were going to be the next dynasty, winning multiple cups over the next few years. I do remember wearing out the C of Champions VHS that came out. I watched that thing so many times.

I see Knut already added the video back on the first page. Removing the one I added.

At home in St. Albert watching with my folks. I was 12 and at the time I was into recording stuff on audio cassette tapes with my commentary on top. I started recording in the third period and the celebration after. I listened to that tape a lot back in those days!

I think the next day was the first of many days that I wore my Flames t-shirt to school.

Playing ball hockey in the twin arenas in Erin Woods. Not sure why we were playing when such an important game was on. I do remember someone bringing a portable radio to the game so we could listen from the bench. When the Flames scored the ref would call a stoppage in play so we could celebrate and then the game would start again.

Our game ended by the start of the 3rd period so we quickly changed and went to the bar to watch the end of the game.

Add me to at home watching with my Dad. I vividly remember it. Even down to the green jogging suit with a collar we got at Sears. Told my Dad I was going to keep it forever. I didn’t.

But I think I have the Herald from the next day in storage still. I am going to try and dig it out tomorrow.

On the side my only other memory was going into Jumbo Video and they had a playoff wall. I would get popcorn and check out the bracket. Now days it is a Goodwill store off Macleod. I drive by all the time and sometimes remember that. Good simple times.

Watching at my buddy’s place in Lethbridge. Had a few hours to celebrate, watch/tape all the Calgary news then head to work for the midnight - 8am shift at Catelli pasta plant (summer job). Got off work just in time to hit the 7/11 and buy a copy of the Herald and Sun. Took a while to get my sleep pattern back.

Buddy of mine got married on parade day. Missed the chance to drive north for the party. Thanks pal.

My buddy and I watched almost every playoff game that year at Malarkeys. We went there straight from work, then headed to Electric Avenue to party when it was over. An early morning stop at Tom's House of pizza and then i picked up the Herald and Sun and read them until time to go to work.
After work that day, it was my girlfriend's graduation, so i went home from work showered and then partied until the next day. I slept like the dead the next couple of nights to recover
