I prefer afternoon (for beer) and Zoom. Would be a nice social event.

There's a chat on zoom and you can have your video and mic on/off. Feel like zoom has both the chat and social aspect in one

If I am the only non zoom person.

I have 31 picks, I will be very occupied with my own draft, as the future of my team relies on this draft. I will be perfectly fine following the draft thread and not have the distraction of getting a "what we it take get XX?" seconds before I'm about to pick

So I'm cool if the league goes zoom without me, I have too much on my plate to deal with the zoom issues. The draft is is everything and gets 100% of my attention

If Carolina is the only team opposed to zoom (and is content with the rest of us participating) then by all means, let's do it.

I suggest we have a vote.

Finding a date that works for all is impossible...particularly during the summer

Seems like folks are comfortable with Zoom. Doug - appreciate your flexibility here.
As we get closer, I'll probably ask someone to set up the zoom meeting, as I don't want to use my corporate account.
If someone has time, it would also be good to assemble a list of over-agers not eligible to be drafted, as that always trips us up on the day off when people try to draft those guys.

Doesn't zoom have a 40 minute limit?

Not sure - we need to look at that because typically we need about 3 hours.

I don't think so as I have some spring classes that are just under 3 hours but they never stop

The key is if they are using a corporate/business account v. a free account.
The free version has a 40 minute limit, just confirmed.
If someone has a company account that can be used, that would be ideal.

I think right now it extends automatically for free after 40 minutes. Haven't tried 3 hours though.

Zoom works great for 3-5 people. 20+ and it gets messy IMO

I have a zoom pro account. I use it for my podcast interviews. Unlimited duration and participants.

A reminder that next Saturday is the draft.
A few things you should be doing
- Getting your lists ready
- Making sure you are scrubbing or noting any over-agers from that list
- Most important: if you cannot make the draft, it is your responsibility to find someone to make your picks and let us know (via this thread) who that person is. The league will not draft for you as our hands are full making our picks and running the draft.
- Scorp will supply a zoom link in advance.

The more people are prepared, the smoother the draft goes.
Any questions?

Well up here in the north I have neither the time and bandwidth to participate in the draft thats why I trade them all away. I'd love to join but unless someone can get me a decent connection I'm out. Hope everyone has fun!!
