Who are the 2 worse than Smith?

I can't tell, because a quick search indicates to me that there are actually 58 goalies who have started 25+ games over the last two seasons. Smith is ranked 32nd among them in save percentage.
Edit: hold on -- I see that dino7c indicated in their original post that the intended scope was since last February. OK. Since February 1, 2018, 42 goaltenders have started 25+ games, and Mike Smith is 42nd among them with an .885 save-percentage. Pretty bad.
I don't know where dino7c got their stat from.

I have no issue with people saying Smith has been really bad, because he has. Unless of course it's completely off topic. I don't have issues with complaints about a soft goal.
I do have issues with complaining about every goal, when usually they are the same as go in against Rittich or other goalies without complaint. Example - the complete fluke deflection going to a player sitting at the back door last time he played. I'm not saying he gets the benefit of the doubt. He doesn't. But a good goal is a good goal.
I guess the point is, if it's a goal where people say "no chance for Rittich" how can we complain of Smith lets it in?

I am not super confident in Smith either, but it makes sense to play him. Rittich was banged up a little, it's a weaker opponent, and Smith was going to draw in at some point during this home stand.
Motivation isn't his issue at all, but hopefully playing his old team elevates him even more.

how about that Coyote who took one off the face last night and then came back to score the winning goal?
Nothing but respect for that.

that said, hopefully he's able to play as a decent backup for Rittich...
edit: Bingo put up a pretty in depth stat analysis https://www.calgarypuck.com/2019/01/...th-the-backup/

So with Hamonic out does Prout take his spot?
I'd go with
Gio Brodie
Hanafin Andersson
Kylington Prout

I agree with this but it's also not so cut and dry. Almost every goal that gets scored can be debated about whether the goalie could have saved it. And ultimately a big difference between good goalies and bad ones is how many difficult saves they make.
SO yeah Smith lets in some stinkers which is obviously a problem. But I don't think all goalies are created equal on all other shots either.

Sure, but aside from "he could have stopped it" most of that's a discussion in a goaltender thread. It just gets silly when certain goals go in and some posters reflexively post about Smith.

The thing with Smith is even if he plays well as soon as a shot beats him the pitchforks will come out. Even if it is an impossible save. If he lets in a softy have at it but lets not drag the guy through the mud if a good shot beats him. Besides, we will win the game anyhow.

Granted it was just warm up, but Smith looked pretty dialed in tonight. Seemed to be tracking the puck well.

There are enough posters on CP that someone will emerge from the woodwork to complain about every goal. I don’t think it reflects the majority of people watching the game. Even if most people understand a good goal when it happens, the odds of nobody at all thinking the goalie should have had it are exceedingly low.

With the way the Flames have been playing, Mike Smith in net, and no Hamonic this feels like a trap game to me

What’s the deal on Hamonic? Just maintenance or an injury?
