Wouldn't it be weird if there was a Colorado Eagles and a Colorado Springs Flames/Heat/*insert new name here*?

Any chance the Eagles start going by Loveland Eagles or we use something regional like when the Baby Flames were in Glens Falls? Maybe Rocky Mountain Flames/Heat? I don't think either sounds too bad.

So does a move away from Stockton signal an end that "California" regional strategy for AHL affiliates?

The only thing I know about Colorado Springs is Ted Haggard. The Colorado Springs Hypocrites?

If we want to stick with the Flames theme, we could be the "Colorado Springs Hell Flames".

Eagles is a good bet considering the proximity of the AF Academy.

The Pike's Peak Pikers.

Or just "Scorch." No geographical marker.

Is this a joke or something? Or are you unaware that the Colorado Eagles are already a team in the league?

No, there are still 4 other teams, and Palm Springs is coming soon. Sounds like Vegas is moving their affiliate to Nevada (not sure if the Chicago Wolves are actually moving, or what...)

I think Vancouver is the last team with a super distant affiliate (Utica). The Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL outdraw Utica right now (a lot ECHL teams outdraw a lot of AHL teams)...I bet the AHL would love a couple of teams in Utah to make a mini rockies division within the Pacific.

Stockton has the lowest attendance in the AHL this year:

The Wolves aren't moving, but they are one of the last of a dying breed: an independently owned AHL franchise. I think it's only a matter of time before they are forced out, or forced down to the ECHL.

Also, the Coyotes have their affiliate in Tuscon.

They would just need it from the NHL (via the Devils likely), which is also unlikely.

I'm voting for the Colorado I-25 Construction as team name. Because it won't be complete before the Flames move their AHL team again!

You're right about that. Big reason why the outdoor game was a fiasco.

Still don't think it will be an issue for this team, as they should be self sustaining in Colorado Springs you'd hope.

They purchased the San Antonio Rampage and will be moving them to Vegas next season (they will play in the arena at the Orleans Casino for the time being). The rumour is that they will name the team the Vegas Silver Knights.

It likely means the Wolves and Blues will become affiliates again.

The Wolves and Blues also had a falling out, so Chicago could theoretically play without an affiliate next season.

Thanks a lot. We really like it and it is a great place to call home and raise kids.

There are so many good craft breweries and burgeoning farm to table restaurants, it makes choosing difficult.

The Elizabeth has a phenomenal atmosphere and a great rooftop lounge. Well played sir...

PM me if you are interested saying hey, next time you will be in the area and have some time.

Hey Reg, I just picked up a piece of memorabilia from someone I work with that you and others on the board are gonna love.

I’ll try and capture a decent image of it tomorrow and share it with everyone.

Cheers!
