Taking a while to get to 5000

NJD would probably consider moving Subban. Time to come full circle!

If he retires instead of LTIR, the recapture penalty to Nashville is 4.1M per year until 2026.

I heard that on the radio. But why would a guy retire instead of drawing salary (like Pronger).

Why would he do that?
He is still owed 18 million dollarydoos after this season.

But wouldn't he still get paid while on LTIR?

For the 22-23 season, his takehome drops to 3M, and the last three years it's only 1M. The next two years sit at 6M. If he wants to explore a profession after his hockey playing career, he would have to retire from the game. When his contract was signed, this was probably the plan, to retire in 23-24.
If he can't play and goes on LITR for two years, he can then retire and only leave 6M on the table. Or three years and only leave 3M on the table.
The recapture penalty goes up against Nashville for each year he is, closer to the end of the contract.

Pronger was working for the NHL while on LTIR.
Weber goes on it, he'll stay on it until the last dollar hits his account.

Yeah, he can either work for the NHL, or the Habs, I think.

Good thing Kypreos remains consistent even in unemployment. Nice scoop, jackass.

You'd think that Kypreos would deliver news with a pro-player slant

Weber will hopefully punch Kypreos in the throat the next time they cross paths.
Weber eats, sleeps, shirts, hockey...I'd be stunned to see him give up and Nick's suggestion irks me and I'm not even that big o fan of Weber
