WGMG is the crappy gym that I signed up for in downtown Vancouver, and how crowded it is after 5pm, and how all the people in it are basically fitness models.

My wife probably bought something similar (straws with the cleaner thing), and one side effect is she started making me drink my coffee with them and it has been super easy getting my teeth to be a bunch of shades whiter. Nice little side effect if you ask me.

I think he was asking if the steel straw gets really hot. I know mine get cold, never used them for a hot drink though

It can only get as hot as the coffee going into your mouth, but doesn't get that hot.

Was thinking both actually. More so on the aspect of sucking up scolding hot liquid through a small orifice. I guess you just have to be careful.

What’s with all of the lane closure signs that don’t lead to any lane closure. Had to drive a fair bit today and saw at least a half a dozen instances all around town.

Best was southbound Crowchild at Glenmore. Multiple right lane closed signs and everyone moved over and created a backlog in the middle lane and then the lane wasn’t even closed.

So much construction that no one can keep track?

Aren't those supposed to be taken down, as well speed limit restrictions, if there is no construction work being done? I thought there were fines for companies that did that. Granted it's probably the City, so it's likely immune.

Spotify. Love the app and the lay out and all that jazz, but, the app skips and pauses songs almost every single ####ing song. I tried deleting cache, clean wipe, nothing. No fix.

So now I'm sampling amazon music unlimited and seeing how that works. Really like the app actually.

Wooden temporary sign stands = city
Metal temporary sign stands = contractor

Default You Know What Really Grinds My Gears? Now with more gears...

So we discussed before the idea that a regular civilian taking pictures of people driving while texting or other distracted wouldn’t result in fines because you’d have to go to court to be a witness. So how does it work that a guy who posted the pic or himself feeding Timbits to a bear gets fined $2000?

Why doesn’t this work for the first situation? If I am a passenger in a car and we are cruising up Deerfoot why wouldn’t my taking picture of a distracted driver’s license plate and of them texting result in a fine for them?

Because the guy who posted the pic is 'confessing' to a crime by posting the pic publicly. He posted it, and it's him in it. He's committing a crime, and he's admitting to it.

In the other case, of someone taking a pic of someone else committing a crime, the picture taker has to go to court to basically verify that they took the pic, and it's contents are not faked up.

NB Sarcee heading from Bow Trail towards the TCH. Speed limit has been dropped to 50 (that is a very long stretch of road, several km at least) and signs stating the left lane is closed ahead due to construction. The last two days heading home after work everyone dutifully slows to 50 and begins moving over. Absolutely zero work going on, both lanes are wide open. Not even any sign of any work other that a few pylons in the median and a tractor sitting in the ditch near the bottom of the hill.
