Also, Rittich can stop staring down his defenceman like Smith did, anytime now. Did it again tonight on Hamonic. 6 on 5 theres a lot of bodies in the middle and the Sabres were going to have to shoot from the outside. Hamonic not really anywhere to go, and because of a clogged middle, it's not like he mistakenly slid into a screen.

Was Rittich technically a UFA? I don't know what category undrafted players under. Either way, the list isn't that long of UFA signings that are great. The other options would be frolik or versteeg

Frolik and Engelland were both good as well. But Doc has been very steady so far, I wasn't sold on his signing at the time but he's been very, very solid.

I'm leaning towards Calgary in this one. Little deflation after big win, nice home and home with Toronto. I like this sportsbucks wagering thing they let you do here.

It felt to me like the closest game this season to how they played the middle 2/3 of last season until the last five minutes when they got sloppy. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. However something has to be done about the discipline. You can't blame the officials for everything as 8 powerplays given up is unacceptable regardless of the outcome of the game.

Lucic is one of the more underrated players in the league if you read some of the stuff about him. I've read plenty people saying Lucic is terrible and isn't even an AHL player, and how they wouldn't take Lucic on their team for free, which is completely ridiculous and just bandwagon mentality. It's clear people don't watch the games, and even not, his fancy stats are good. Lucic is a solid NHL player. Maybe not the player he once was, but most definitely a useful guy in your bottom 6 at least.
I used to say that when he was an Oiler, but I've matured now.
probably best game I've seen I in a long time except for first and last 5 minutes.
Also great to see Johnny passing like an elite player, and not just trying to rifle it through a bunch of skates and sticks and hoping for the best.
