And yes, agreed it left a hole that needed to be filled. But what I'm OK about is that they didn't throw cash at the first big name available. I'd rather they are where they're at now than having a knee jerk reaction and taking the same old mercenary like player like Dybala. So whilst it left a hole I wouldn't exactly call it criminal simply because I don't think there was anyone available. I'd rather that than handcuff themselves to a kneejerk replacement.
Hopefully they can move a couple more on in January and the rest in the summer. Hopefully him and Edwin are reconnecting.
Who I'd like to see go.
Pogba,Martial, Lindgard, Matic, Young, Mata. Change the dressing room completely.
Read this a few times and still no idea what you are trying to say. Is there a point you're trying to make here?
|
I’d keep Martial. Agreed on the rest. I see Devo echoes it.
Martial, albeit affected by injuries, has been a good soldier. He scores and assists, with little drama.

Why wouldnt they have a transfer budget with no CL?
They are the one team who dont need it for the financial reasons as much as the others

They have shareholders to answer to. You can't lose £50-100 million in revenue and then go increase spending too. Woodward will get sacked for that far quicker than just being mediocre like they are. The Sheikh as a single owner who answers to no one can do whatever he wants. But obviously that's a rare situation.
Speaking of money issues, Poch probably can't be sacked simply because it would cost Spurs too much money with how much time if left on his deal. But its clear his time is up so I imagine they will let him leave unimpeded when he wants to go. Which is obviously a pretty shocking turnaround from six months ago.

Something is seriously gone wrong with Spurs. The score so far is a genuine reflection of how this game has been going.
If anything, the scoreline has been kind to Spurs.

I think that's it for Poch. It's unfortunate, but he's clearly lost the room and it's the international break. I can't see Levy sitting back with millions of dollars on the line and no response from these guys. I don't know who they bring in.... Mourinho, Rafa? Not good times for Spurs though.

Yeah this has to be the final straw. The Champions League run masked some issues they had to end last season because you could blame it on the lack of squad depth but now it’s clear he’s just lost the team which is a shame.
Rafa feels more like a Spurs for than Mourinho would for sure. He has no experience in England but I could see Massimo Allegri being a name that gets rumoured too.

Waking up to a score like that always makes me smile .
Having Ryan as my fantasy team keeper this week makes it even sweeter.

I think Levy has to take some of the blame for this. It was pretty clear the back 4 were going to be an issue this year and he did absolutely nothing to shore it up. Combine that with the refusal to sell any of the want aways during this window, and refusal to buy any players last year and it's not really surprising that the team is in the shape it's in.

Did you watch your entire team last year? Wasn't like he was the only disappointment. And he still scored more than Rashford who is looking more and more like the next Welbeck. Acting like he was the big problem there was laughable, as they continue to struggle for even a single goal a game now.

I knew you were going to come back with numbers hence why I ask if you even watch the games.

He's in a bit of a hole here with the want aways.
Lose them for nothing which is very Un Levy like or weaken the team and cash in from a position of weakness in January.

Ndidi looks like he's going to talk his way into a red card before this game is over.

Why would I subject myself to absolutely abject football every week? I feel for you doing so. But I've seen enough to know Lukaku wasn't great, but again, almost everyone in your team last year wasn't great. Acting like he alone was why you were ass for most of last year was misguided. No he's not the same class as Aguero, but he had a bad year in a year 90% of your team had a bad year. He was a symptom, not the problem.
And yeah numbers kinda matter you know? Is the job of your striker not to score? Rashford has one open play goal this year and that was two months ago. I haven't heard you say anything negative about him. Surely you can't be happy you dumped your number one striker, and his replacement hasn't been much of an improvement, if at all.

That should be a red card for the tackle on Salah. Directly from behind with no intent to go for the ball
