Maybe they go with less position coaches.
Yeah the coaches cap has to be at play here.

I never have gotten a good explanation as to why this was put in place by the league in the first place, outside of one of Ambroise’s off the wall ideas just to be different.

Wonder if it means the end for Nik Lewis in BC too.

I don't know why they implemented the coaches cap. But it did cause some havoc last year.

You know Nik was on the right path, he was doing some high school coaching. But its tough for a player to jump right into coaching at a pro level. I would expect that the whole coaching staff will be let go when they name a new head coach.

It was put in place because some teams did not like how the Riders were spending much more than every other team on scouts, coaches, etc. However I believe they went a little too far and used it as a means to cut coaching salaries so teams could make a bit more profit as it's not like the Riders were the only team that was affected by this as several teams felt the pinch.

I agree. You won't see me at McMahon this weekend. Way too cold. If it was indoors I would be there.

well...he might be right on the prairies (Edm, Cal, Sask), it surely didn't happen in Toronto even when they had winning teams and Vancouver certainly doesn't sell out.

I think he’s more referring to the fact that the forecast for Sunday is a high of -13 with a low in the -20s with wind and snow.

Vancouver and Toronto rarely face those types of conditions.

Congrats to Nate Holley and Dave Dickinson on being the West nominees for outstanding rookie and coach respectively.

Doesn't even need to be a dome, just seats that are a little more comfortable and I'd probably go to more Stampeders games. Seats are just super small and crammed in that Stadium.

Sitting in Mosiac for the Winter Classic was cold but at least the seats were still nice and spacious with great sightlines.

Plus they could just do the common sense thing and start the season a month to 6 weeks earlier.

Bo pretty much dared the weather gods to crap all over McMahon in his post-game interview last week. He said something like 'bring on the snow'. So here it comes.

Yeah it makes no sense to run the CFL season into November. The Grey Cup should be played the first weekend of October when the weather is still generally mild. Start the season earlier and cut out a couple weeks of the season.

Anyone worried when they look at the forecast for Sunday? Just thinking back to the beginnings of my Stamps fandom in the early 90s, I don't associate us with playing well in snowy playoff games..it's historically heartbreak. Nervous!

That said, I still don't want a permanent dome. Retractable sure, I'm in favour of them covering it for playoff games when it's freezing. But having to sit indoors all summer just to ensure we're protected for 1-2 possible cold games would freaking suck.

EDIT: agreed about above. Just have it wrapped up by Halloween. Playing into late November in Canada is crazy

Number 1 issue with the CFL is the scheduling, snow games every year isn't some kind of esoteric passtime, the fans hate it, the players hate it, the sport suffers for it. It's so obvious the season needs to start earlier it hurts, I've never heard a justification of why it's this way, are they afraid to compete with the start of Hockey and Basketball? Like, you're not losing a Stamps playoff audience to the Flames home opener, come on man.

I also heard they don't want to compete with stanley cup playoffs. Not sure if that will be a factor most years. The odd year yes if one of the canadian cities make the final.

I am going to the west final. I would take my 2 boys with me if i could gaurantee decent weather. But unlikely Nov 17th.
