Well, that's a fine start to the 3rd set as Denis breaks Zverev.

Return game is fine today, needs to start serving better.

Yeah it's a bit deceiving. Although he's only winning 53% of first serves, he's winning 83% of those points. Which is an elite number and kind of balances it out.

2 holds away now and the serving is much better in this 3rd set.

Zverev is favoring his left leg, he jammed it on a point in the previous game.

Winners were 38-20 in Shapo's favor. He also forced 17 break points on the Zverev serve winning five of them. It was a pretty dominant performance from Denis today.

Denis will play the winner of Monfils and Albot in the quarter-finals. Good chance for Shapo to make a semi-final appearance in Paris.

Back into the top 20 for Denis, who is quietly sporting one of the top 5 records on tour since the hardcourt season began in July at 19-9.
By my math Medvedev is 29-4, Rublev is 28-12, Theim is 23-7 and De Minaur is 20-7.

Denis is also still alive in men's doubles as he and Rohan Bopanna were victorious in straight sets following his big win over Zverev. They are scheduled to take on the Russian duo of Khachanov and Rublev prior to his singles match with Monfils.

That was quick as Novak wins 6-1 6-2 and will play Dimitrov in one of the semi-finals on Saturday.

Family commitments will prevent me from watching the Shapo - Monfils match - If Denis wins, he will be the highest ranked Canadian on the ATP tour when the official rankings come out on Monday.
