Berrettini chokes with a DF on match point, promptly gets broken.

Monfils always looks like he is about to collapse, but I believe the sweltering conditions in NY today are making it difficult for both guys. Gael is back on serve in the 5th set as he broke Berrettini as the Italian was serving for the match.

5th set tie-breaker needed to decide a winner.

Well we're 3/4 of the way to the worst set of semi-finalists in GS history. Let us hope Schwartzman fulfills his end of the bargain.

Just heard Felix turned down a Laver Cup spot, that's too bad would have been a good opportunity.

He doesn't need to play more tennis. Hes got health problems. Davis Cup is enough.

Bianca is playing super loose tennis so far.

Really shaky start for Bianca, the double faults are really adding up fast.

Body language is pretty bad. She looks discouraged and emotionally drained. She needs to turn this around in a hurry.
EDIT: Look at the way she's swinging her arms around limply after a miss. This does not look like someone who is focused.

Mertens is playing out of her mind, Bianca has to hold her serve and hope her level drops. She also needs to pick up her game here

The difference in intensity between the two of them is palpable. Mertens is laser focused, Bianca looks like she really, really doesn't want to be there.

It makes me wonder if the pro US crowd in the Townsend match got to her

Too little too late. No chance to get into that service game, Mertens is playing very well. You'd really like to see some energy from Bianca as opposed to this loose, resigned, arm-swingy thing she's got going. Put up a fight!
