Fed is a service hold away from delivering a bagel - The first five games have consumed 14 minutes on the clock.
Edit: Bagel achieved in 18 minutes.

We're going to a third and deciding set as Monfils takes set 2 6-4. Some uncharacteristic loose play from Roger, let's see if it carries over to set 3.
Edit: Fed breaks Gael in the crucial 7th game to get back on serve, Roger serving at 3-4. Should be a doozy of a finish to this match.

Monfils had a couple of match points, but couldn't cash in and Fed survives winning 6-0 4-6 7-6(3). Credit to Monfils for making it an entertaining match after a disaster of a first set.

Posting to say what an entertaining final set between Fed and Monfils, and also to break the 7 straight post streak from dash.

I'm going with Joker, Thiem, Greek Yogourt, and Rafa.

Great run to the Madrid women's doubles final by the duo of Gaby Dabrowski and Xu Yifan who won their semi-final match earlier today 6-4 6-4 over Zvonareva and Ostapenko.

Novak Djokovic reached the semifinals of the Madrid Open on Friday after Marin Cilic withdrew because of food poisoning. Cilic said he had a "terrible night" and would not be able to play in the quarterfinal match against the top-ranked Djokovic.

Thiem didn't play a good first set (looked pretty nervous out there). He's playing much better in set 2 and had three break points at love-40, but Roger reeled off five straight points to hold.

Federer is in god-mode as far as service is concerned. He didn't even miss a first serve until the back end of the first set and started 15/15!
He's still cracking serves, but is now only connecting on 80% of first serves for the match.

We need a third set as Thiem takes the tie-breaker 13-11.

That tie breaker was amazing. Another quality match from Roger on the clay.
