I think that I may have accidentally watched every sports movie ever made. Here is a double bill for people who like basketball :
Rebound starring Don Cheadle. Kareem Abdul Jabbar named him as the best player that he had ever played against.
And you can follow that up with the documentary "On the Shoulders of Giants". I liked the doc better, but Cheadle was a relative unknown when he made Rebound, and knocked it out of the park.

Within the same genre, Mean Machine, which is an adaptation of the story but set in the UK and around "proper football" is great. Features a lot of the folks from Lock, Stock.

Basically every scene from Remember The Titans belongs on this list. And this probably isn't the best or most poignant one. But damn if I don't remember this line and tear up every time watching this scene.
"You blitz all night!"
Came in here to post this. I’d run through a wall for Will Patton in this scene. Underrated actor.
I don’t know how to embed, but this was a great ending to an awesome movie from my youth. The context in a 3 minute clip likely won’t resonate if you’ve not seen the film. This clip is also Spanish subtitled as the English version I found was 6-7 minutes so went with the shorter.
The movie is called Best of the Best. Awesome martial arts film.
Reminds me of perhaps my all-time favorite sketch:
Heraclitus a little flick, here he comes on the far post, Socrates is there, Socrates heads it in! Socrates has scored! The Greeks are going mad, the Greeks are going mad! Socrates scores, got a beautiful cross from Archimedes. The Germans are disputing it.
Hegel is arguing that the reality is merely an a priori adjunct of non-naturalistic ethics, Kant via the categorical imperative is holding that ontologically it exists only in the imagination, and Marx is claiming it was offside.
