This is great news. Will be nice to hear him again on the regular now for national broadcasts.

Less Randorf too; so my ears don't have to bleed as much.

How many people do you think they’re gonna have to fire to afford him?

From the way the press release is written, I was unsure if this was a permanent move or only temporarily for the resumption of play and playoffs since there are potentially going to be many games being played simultaneously and there won't be any CFL games for him to call.

Cuthbert confirms that this is a permanent move and he is leaving TSN and won't be calling CFL games anymore.

Huge get for SN and hockey fans.

But an even bigger loss for TSN and football fans.

It's good timing too, as if the NHL playoffs goes ahead, they'll be broadcasting so many games daily, they'll need a few pbp / colour teams. With Cuthbert, Ball, and Hughson (minus Canucks games), SN has a pretty strong line up of pbp guys.

Good, the guy is absolutely grating to listen to. Most biased "National" play-by-play caller on TV.

Chris Cuthbert on the other hand is an absolute professional and joy to listen to!

Congrats Sportsnet!

I guess this means he will no longer be calling NHL games for NBC and NBCSN?

Cuthbert is awesome. One of the best in the biz.

Hopefully he's not too rusty after calling football for 15 years.

This is awful strictly because Rod Black will be calling more CFL games and he should be shot into the sun.

He's probably called more hockey games in the last 15 years than football.

He's done plenty of hockey games for TSN even when they lost the rights(regional Leafs/Sens games) and then the World Juniors and NHL playoffs for NBC.

The last thing Cuthbert will be is rusty on a hockey call.

The best left in the biz. Very glad to be hearing his voice potentially calling a Flames game again. If I'm not mistaken he called a bunch during our 03-04 run.

Randorf and Quinn need to be fired into the sun.

I would shell out good money to never have to hear them on a broadcast again. Just saying!

IMO, Chris is a close second to Doc Emrick as best hockey broadcaster.

He will be missed during the world juniors but I’d rather an entire season and playoffs listening to him. This is a huge win for us.

Has Cuthbert ever called the World Jrs? Isn't that Miller's exclusive territory?
