Maybe San Jose will lose the series but they are not going to go down easily. And don't forget Sharks are missing their captain.

And a top line C. But so were the Flames
Why are some of you acting like the series is over and an easy win for the Sharks?

Seems pretty even to me
Because it is.

Some of the CP brigade are looking to substantiate their “ The Flames are fatally flawed” narrative.

Very interesting playoffs.

Very possible that the 4 wildcard teams will be in the conference finals.

IMO they just didn't elevate their game to another level when the playoffs started. This isn't regular season Colorado or San Jose that we are watching now.

I was more just referring to this game itself, Avs were getting outshot 25-11 on home ice and looking brutal. I get salty when they look like they're getting outclassed by a team we were good against this year and probably should be playing right now.

Hopefully that MacKinnon snipe wakes them up for the third, he's fun to watch when he's not bearing down on us.

SJ is huge and strong. They win just about every board battle. And those long sticks hope with the forecheck. Our game plan may have been bad, but we simply don't have the bodies to play tough playoff hockey.

Total fallacy. The Avalanche out hit the Sharks by more than double that period. Just look at Carolina. They were the soft but quick team that went up against the heavy, mean, bruising Capitals and they didn’t just make it a series, they beat them.

The Flames can complete with any team, they just needed to play towards their strengths rather than play towards the Avalanche’s strength. The Flames couldn’t out skate the Avs mono e mono, so they should’ve made it a boring, ugly, defensive series like the Islanders did to the far superior Penguins. It may have been a boring series, but the Islanders’ style was extremely effective.

It’s not the series, it’s the game in itself in question. The Flames looked like amateur hour at the Pepsi center whereas the Sharks were taking it to the Avs in a way the Flames couldn’t. The Flames could’ve easily been swept by the Avs, it was not a close series whereas this one at least is. I honestly think the game plan made the players look worse then they actually were. These were players that earned the top spot in the West with merit, not an 8th seed.

Nice deflection from Nieto to tie the game. The Sharks retake the lead quickly, 3-2 now with Couture scoring.

There's the patented late game Avs powerplay. Nice dive.

This is basically making hockey games look like managed entertainment. So many late game penalties really do tilt the ice in favor of the Avs

Chris Cuthbert best play by play hands down, could listen to his goal calls all day. Guy needs to be on sportsnet!

Couturier is so clutch. Reminds me of prime Toews.

Couture scores the empty net goal for the hat trick to make it 4-2 Sharks.

The stupid thing is, MacKinnon was mauled a couple minutes earlier and that didn't warrant a call.

The trip was exactly what they kept calling against Calgary. Garbage.

That's how you close out a game. Yes I'm still angry.

I hate the Sharks but eff the Avalanche. Can't both of these teams be out? After the first round, I just really freakin hate Colorado.

Most playoff goals since 2010:

1) Ovechkin - 50
2) Couture - 43
3) Crosby - 42

Wonder if Couture can catch Ovechkin.

Gretzky has 122 playoff goals but a mere 0.587 per game. Lemieux has 76 but 0.710 per game I think that makes Mario the most clutch playoff performer ever.
