Barzal Signs Long Term With 'Canes
Mathew Barzal signed a 19.5 million dollar contract with the Carolina Hurricanes early Tuesday morning to remain a Canes for the next 3 seasons.
After leading the Hurricanes to the franchise's best season in history as the Canes finished the year with 52 wins and 109 points. Finishing 2nd overall in the league and 1st in the Eastern Conference.
Mathew played in 80 of the Hurricane's 82 games last year and totalled a team-leading 89 points, which happened to also be 6th overall in league leaders. Playing on a line with Roope Hintz and Alex DeBrincat, Mathew was able to set up his two wingers as both linemates broke the 30-goal plateau
