I didn't make up the definition of the word phrase:
Quote:
injury-prone
: frequently injured
"an athlete who is injury-prone"

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/injury-prone
Quote:
injury-prone
(ˈɪndʒərɪˌprəʊn)
adjective
often sustaining injuries
"the most injury-prone rider on the circuit"

Often sustaining injuries.

From the academics to the wild west of urban dictionary, the phrase means "frequently injured." Yes, "prone to injury" means likely to happen, but "injury-prone" is an idiom. Like other idioms, you cannot figure out the meaning by just taking the meaning of the individual words and mashing them together.
The more you know.

Any other useless information you need, let me know. It's either this or do work, and I've chosen my path.

I appreciate it. However, it does further entrench my thoughts that “injury-prone” doesn’t mean he’s likely to get a future injury. Just often injured. Double win.

Prone-ness and frequency have nothing to do with each other. Ok thanks CP, you learn something new every day!

Come join us in the Cavalry FC thread!
If you manage your sports correctly you can hop back and forth between forum sections, completely avoiding the off season. It's great!

Read an article on replacement D for the Flames. Would Ben Hutton be a good fit?

Mark Giordano played with him. I think the defence corps is fine under the current leadership. Gio would probably have a say about it. Phaneuf didn't leave on the best of terms with the Flames players from what I understand.

There were some pretty salacious rumors going around at the time involving some players who are still in the organization and their spouses, if I recall.
I don't think we will ever see phaneuf in flames-red again. Stranger things have happened though, Theo F'in Fleury almost made the team less than a decade ago.

Dion Phaneuf was an ambitious ####-sure 24 year old, all the hype in the world and star expectations. The Dion Phaneuf a decade later on a PTO would be very different. No problem whatsoever bringing him in in that situation.

Except that he's not good, based on his last couple seasons. But then again, a PTO would fairly quickly establish his fitness, skating and overall skill retention.
I also think he'd be a bit more expensive to sign to a one year deal, just because he has no real need to play.

No thanks to Dion. Only reason he is being brought up is name recognition and fan service.
Prefer looking for a younger player trying to make it in the league. More coachable with at least some upside.
