On pathways? you could start at Bedington/Country hills park, and run down the pathway all the way to downtown. That would be 20ish km. Take the bus straight back up centre.

I’m doing the virtual Sea Wheeze and I haven’t found a place where I can run for a long stretch.
I have ran many half equivalencies within Nosehill Park. It will not all be on asphalt due to the limited paved paths however. I do lot's of cross-country/trail running so I prefer it over city streets/pathways.

The river is your best bet. Won't have any street crossings to deal with.

You can also do 2x out and back if you don't want to go quite as far.

Yes, but it has become kind of cumbersome with the changes.

I don't run nearly as often as I should... unless I have a goal to work toward (a race, event or something, I really get out of the habit).

Anyway, Runtastic Pro is what I use. Is Strava that much better?

Need some over the ear headphones for running. Any recommendations for something comfortable and sweatproof? Do not like ear buds and have tried various kinds. Thanks.

My response may not be helpful, my opinion of course. Running with anything over or in the ears is dangerous if you’re not on a treadmill or a controlled track environment. I cringe when I see people running on the streets, pathways, etc with their ears covered by headphones or earbuds. You can’t hear traffic or the many other potential threats that you would be privy to with ears wide open. Many years ago as a young Spartans distance runner, keeping your ears uncovered was engrained in our team. That was when cassette playing Walkmans were the norm. Now 34 years on as a Masters runner, ears wide open is still my mantra.

What about bone conduction headphones like Aftershokz? You still can hear all the outside noises so you wouldn't have issues identifying threats, but the sound is decent enough to still be heard at a decent volume while running.

I have essentially a base model version that I'm happy with. But there are some that are more expensive with higher clarity, longer battery life, lighter etc.

I'm looking for some good running underwear for longer distances. I sweat a fair amount and chafing is always a possibility. Some internet research shows ExOfficio and Runderwear might be some good brands but either don't ship to Canada or have huge shipping costs.

Can someone recommend a good brand that I could find locally and/or a running store with a good selection of underwear. Thanks!

I'm quite partial to the Lululemon SenseKnit running tights. Expensive but the quality is extremely high. They also make great long underwear / base layer for winter alpine sports.

Underwear? My running shorts had a mesh inside, not really intended to be worn with any underwear. If chafing is a concern there are some anti-chafing gels.

The good thing though is, eventually as you get more fit, your thighs will stop rubbing together.

If you really want underwear, try Gord’s, the guys there are pretty knowledgeable.

Yeah, no underwear in the running shorts - that's what the mesh is for. If I'm running 15K or more, I'll put some bike anti-chafe cream down there with the boys.

I've gotten back into running (finally).

Generally, I'll run in Under Armour underwear. I haven't had an issue. I have a few other brands of athletic underwear (Saxx, Joe Fresh) but I like Under Armour the best.

Also, this is the first year I've done a program. Can't believe the results. I did a Learn to Run 5K, and then instantly continued on with a Learn to Run 10K.

Hills man, hills are evil but holy hell do you improve.

What were the highlights of your training for both the 5K and the 10K? I'm going to join a training program next year to assist on my next 10K goal.

1. The progress is fun to watch

2. Being in better shape, sleeping better, feeling better

3. Abs... apparently I have some. That's neat.

That said I sent you a DM about the programs.
