We all thought it was kind of cheating when we were play-testing with Oddjob [due to his short stature, the auto-aim of the weapons goes above his head], but it was too much fun to take out and there was no impetus from any of us to change it.
So I dont play Fortnite, but my 9 year old son does. He asked if he could give me $15 and buy $15 worth of 'v bucks', I said sure.
Fast forward a week and I see 15 transactions on my Visa all for $15 for Microsoft Xbox. Long story short, I was very impressed with Xbox. They refunded me the amount in dispute and urged me to add a passkey for making purchases.
Just thought it was kinda funny.
That's awesome, I buy for my 7yo from time to time and I remove my PayPal each time to be safe. He says you know I wouldn't buy them without you knowing to which I replied we all have temptations and moments of weakness. It wasn't as preachy as that but similar.

Wise move. They have good intentions, but it'd be hard when you have next-to-zero appreciation of how money works outside the most basic stuff. My kids kinda get it, but I wouldn't trust them for a moment at this point.
Yes going forward I will have a pass key on there. He thinks one of his buddies kept smashing the buy button, and he did offer to give me his birthday money lol. But that wasn't necessary thankfully. Live and learn!
I didn't hear about how the initial release of the game in 2016 was a failure, but the new updated version for Xbox is considered a big improvement.
I really like it - an exploration game in a huge sandbox.
I am playing it - played since foundation update (PS4) and the NEXT update was a gamechanger.
I haven't played the multiplayer, as I play this game to be a loner, but the community has taken this on (check out the reddit). Some of the things that have been started:
* a guy using his freighter to offer people rides - giant space taxi
* a group set up a base construction firm, payment in in-game items
* there are also hubs, collectives, etc.
For me, I enjoy it as I can fire it up, set out to complete a task, get lost in exploring... I use it to relax, as it is way less tense (save the start of a new game) than most other games are.
It still requires you to be prepared to make your own fun, as the storyline is limited. TBH the storyline/base quests are best used as a very long tutorial and side tasks while you decide what you want to do next.
And tip - plaques can direct you to buried treasure, which is RNG and could be worth anything from 100K to 18M units

My kids "Lets buy this big expensive thing"
Me: "I don't have the money for that"
Kids: "You don't need money, just use your card"
Me: " Thats not how that works"

Usually costing $15, For Honor Starter Edition can now be claimed for free via its Steam store page. The promotion will come to an end on August 27. Also, note that while this is a Steam copy, the game will still launch Uplay when running it, just like any other Ubisoft game.
Yeah if you could've grabbed one, you should've. Even if you didn't want it you could flip it for at least 2X profit on Ebay right now.
I really try not to scalp / resell things for profit.
Even though the guy after me who had it in his cart probably just did it...I am not a fan of doing that. Especially right away.
Plus that thing is so damn nice that I think once it was in my hands there was no way I was going to sell it...so some self preservation in that sense too.
