I read the Last of Us 2 leaks so you all dont have to. Nothing specific below.
Spoiler!
Its all story related. It's Game of Thrones final season type stuff, if they are true. Just missing the mark.
I think I went from pre order to not interested, they should have left the original game as a stand alone.
Nice, I really liked Odyssey but I'm a big fan of that time period, not as much a fan of vikings but that they call it Valhalla gets my hopes up with lots of mythology tie ins. And of course the boats will be back.
Also Ragnarök.

Yeah I'm excited too, though I always am for AC games. I like it because I always nerd out getting myself educated with the time period prior to release, and the previous two games are arguably my two favourite all-time historical cultures so I already knew a tonne. I don't know much at all about the vikings, so it's a good reason to fill in that historical gap for me. Can't wait for the trailer tomorrow!
I'll try it but despite the last two games having interesting timelines and locations the actual gameplay was among the worst in the series imo
Origins was such a joke on PC with all the glitches and NPCs failing to properly render. I didn't even get a quarter of the way through it because of all the bull####.
I never played Odyssey, simply because I was put off by the choice to deliberately break the game so they could sell EXP boosters. That and all the DLC and special edition content... It just seemed like a grift.

Of course my Xbox one just had to stop working all of a sudden during lockdown (won't turn on)....
Should I just save my money for the upcoming nextgen console later this year??? Given that there's backward compatibility, seems like the better investment.
Couple of hours into Gears Tactics and it's pretty damn good, hits the XCOM itch perfectly while still changing enough stuff to be it's own thing. I like their overwatch implementation much better than XCOM, setting up kill boxes and watching the ensuing carnage is so satisfying. The execution system is also fantastic, chaining a few together resulting in half your team with double action points almost feels like cheating
I'm not sure if I would have given it a shot if I wasn't already subscribed to Game Pass, but now it's just another reason why it's such a good deal

I never get into the cinematic trailers like the actual game-play trailers, but the setting looks good! Sure looks like naval battles will be back, as well as large set-piece battles from Odyssey will make a return.
Considering we're all still in quarantine bored out of our minds, I wish this was out in summer or something. Ah well
I was considering pre-ordering it until I saw it was another Epic exclusive. Guess I'm waiting a year to see if Ubisoft will release it on Steam and if not I'll buy it on Uplay then when it's half off.
I didn't find AC Origins interesting at all. I powered through the main story but didn't bother with any of the sidequests or even exploring half the map. Odyssey was the opposite, I loved the setting and the combat was much improved, I did everything available in that game without getting bored

*Was also so on board for Pirates, Ancient Egypt, Constantinople, French Revolution, Colonial America, was there one in London?
Yeah, Syndicate, from I think 2015. Victorian London. It was directly after the mess that was the Unity release, when AC was at an all-time low in terms of blowback, so it flew under the radar I think.
It was good, but was also probably the easiest AC to date..they introduced a Batman style grappling hook to ease the minutae of having to climb large, modern style buildings. While it was cool and fun to use, it made it WAY too easy to get out of a jam. Getting overwhelmed? Simply press the grappling hook button and get outta there. It made the game not challenging enough. But fun enough if you enjoy the franchise.
