“Dustin is so internally driven to be the very best,” said Silvertips skipper Dennis Williams. “I can’t even describe his practices … He is the hardest competitor in practice. He comes out every day to stop every puck. It’s ridiculous. And I’m talking highlight-reel saves in practice. You know, where a lot of guys might not give that extra push on a 2-on-0 drill or something like that, he wants to stop every puck. He really does.
In my three years with him, I haven’t seen a bad practice from him. He wants the net. He wants the pucks. He wants the challenge. He wants the best shooters to shoot on him. He wants the 5-on-0 against the No. 1 power-play unit, and it’s OK if they’re going back-door. He’s pushing to make that save."
He was talking about how excited he is to come play here, no different than when he was excited to be here in camp,” Sigalet said. “He left a great impression then and I’m sure he’ll put his A game on the table (Sunday). I don’t think the nerves will get to him at all. It’s just another game to him, another chance to prove the type of goalie he is to our organization.”
Sounds like a kid who’s really hungry.
You could almost say he’s hungry like a...

He's on another level relative to his peers. Hopefully it translates to the pros where his lack of size may be put more to the test. Still given where they drafted him if he makes the NHL in any capacity it's a win for the organization.
Lots of people have been raving about Saros on the Preds for a while now. I know a lot of people here wanted the Flames to go after him and he's listed at 5'11. So the days of goalies like the Beezer(5'8) might be over, but 6' ain't too bad.
If I remember correctly, Carter Hart and Tristan Jarry were both listed at 6'0"when they were drafted out of the WHL, and now both are listed at 6'2"-so maybe he'll have a growth spurt, and size will no longer be a question mark.....

Carter Hart was listed at 6'1". Tristan Jarry was 6'.
Males tend to stop growing at 20 years of age. Some men do keep growing past 20 but it is not that common. Males do how ever keep developing until 25/26 .

Yeah the uniformed who looked at one year of nice stats. He’s had bad stats every other year.
He’s nothing special. If he was the preds wouldn’t have re upped Pinne.

Well I can't say I've seen a lot of Saros, but it looks like the other way around. So far this is his only bad year stat wise. The only thing is he hasn't had a heavy workload over the years.

Last year no starter was below 6'0" IIRC. And that was one guy.
I think short goalies have a real disadvantage that can't be covered by other attributes, especially in today's style of tending.
