Like the forward lines (considering the injuries and suspensions). Don't like the defence pairings at all. Really feels like they are mismanaging the Kylington situation.

Guessing Richardson will be ready for Saturday despite still not skating otherwise we'd see someone up already would we not?
And yeah, if I'm Kylington I can't wait to ride out of town giving the middle finger lol

That is my fear, he gets out of town and develops into a top pairing offensive D man somewhere else and we get nothing worth anything back for a position we desperately need to fill. Kylington playing on RD is still >>>>Gudbranson.

Waive him and he'll be picked up. Trade him, and he'll play in the NHL.
He has NHL level skill. He'll get a chance somewhere I guarantee it.

They have an off day tomorrow, so this is the final practice before the game day skate on Saturday.
Still no indication of the plan for Coleman's replacement for the game.

Yeah, I just flat-out disagree with it as well.
Kylington earned it ahead of Gudbranson and Zadarov. This looks like a case of higher salaried veterans playing ahead of a younger (better) player for "reasons". I just don't think Gudbranson should be in this line-up, and I hope Zadarov ends up on the 3rd unit/on the PK in the end.
Hopefully Edmonton's speed doesn't expose Zadarov/Gudbranson too much on Saturday, and then hopefully we see Kylington get into the line-up soon.

Still hoping that the Kylington situation is resolved when Valimaki goes in the Eichel trade.

I guess I don't see what others see from him on this board. Wasn't he waived less than a year ago? He shows some flashes of skill, but usually more flashes of awful defensive play IMO

You clearly didn't see him play this pre-season then. He clearly took a big step forward imo.

Insiders like Friedman commenting on him this pre-season, that he'll be claimed if waived again. I believe our own Freeway was quoted as saying he's played his way into a waiver pick up. (apologies if I have the individual wrong with that).

You have the correct individual. We are indeed talking about Kylington.

Gudbranson is one thing but that seems like an inevitability, I'm more surprised Sutter has Valimaki ahead of Kylington. Don't think he had a good preseason plus it seems like Sutter slams his game every time he gets asked about him in a presser.

Unless Sutter goes with the Hartley opener (which I am on record proposing), there is no reason at all for Gudbranson to play on Saturday, especially with home team last change...

That's not the whole story though.
They played the hell out of him early when Hanifin was out, and did very well against lesser NHL lineups.
I thought he kept that momentum against the Oilers in Edmonton, but then really struggled against the Jets to wind up the preseason schedule.
Good step for sure ... but I don't know if I'd say clearly or a big step.
Bottom line is they kept him, so they see something. If they wanted him in the AHL they would have waived him this week before games started as you can usually get guys down.
So they want him playing, or they don't want to lose him, ... either way they saw something.

Sutter clearly sees Gudbranson higher on the depth chart than both Valimaki and Kylington based on the practices we have seen. He'll be in Saturday.
Overall we are looking at the lineup with one last question mark of who is the one more forward that will play. I am guessing its Pitlick since he is not on IR and is skating. Otherwise we are seeing a last minute call up.
