Starcraft 2!
I can't wait for this to be released! They're signing up people for beta-testing. Blizzard sure takes it's own sweet time doing things, but it is definitely worth it in the end.

They always take way longer than anyone else to release their games.

By "counting down the days" you mean they've actually set a release date?

I don't get that reference. Are we talking about DNF? No one takes longer than 3D Realms.

When Blizzard rakes in over a billion dollars each month just on World of Warcraft they can afford to take their time.

The lack of LAN functionality sounds suspicious. The thought that we would need to always be connected to Battle.net and run all games through them sounds absurd.
Could you imagine trying to organize a 100+ person LAN party featuring Starcraft 2 - all traffic needing to be routed through Battle.net. Sounds like a pain in the zergling.

Considering how frequently people actually lan I dont think its a big deal. I dont think the average gamer has ever been to a lan party.

They most certainly take a long time to make games. Sometimes up to 6 years but at the end of the day I don't think there would be too much argument that they also tend to make amazing games and are one of the best companies out there for PC and Mac gaming.

I noticed their FAQs for all games have something along the lines of:
Q: When will -GameX- be released?
A: When it's ready.
I'm holding off purchasing a new computer until I hear what the requirements are going to be for SC2.

While Blizzard is famous for that quote, they are also famous for ensuring that their games do not have high minimum reqs. Seems odd that they are one of the few developers that has discovered that the more computers your game runs on, the more potential customers you have.
I would venture a guess that it will work on anything made in the last 2 years or so.

I'm pretty sure I've read an interview with a developer that mentioned that was the design goal. Basically a Core2duo, 2gig ram and a video card with 256mb ram.

Come on, three seperate single player games instead of one game with three campaigns?
I guess that's what being bought by Activision does for you. "How can we gouge customers for as much money as possible?"
