Before the 7 game road trip, Kipper had a good chance of beating Brodeur's record of 48 wins.
With 12 games left, it's still possible but will be tough to achieve. I'd be pumped if the Flames win 8 or more of their last 12!!

Nope. Kiprusoff needs to get to 50 to have a shot but my guess would be one Martin Brodeur will win that trophy

With the record he beats, I'm pretty sure we can already give the Vezina to Brodeur.

We should ask the eastern writers about his chances.

And if they lock up the division you can be sure Kipper will be rested a few games.

No, he's not a top 5 goaler. He hasn't scored any goals at all this year!

Ha, didn't notice that. What the heck is a goaler. Ghetto slang for goalie?

If he gets to rest more, he'll be top 5, possibly top 3. The problem is he gets played too much. I can see:
Brodeur, Luongo, Thomas, Nabokov, and maybe Kipper. So he's a "maybe 5th" for me.

Brodeur getting the Vezina would be a farce.....yes he broke the record and I'm a big fan of his, but the guy only played half the season. I say give it to Mason, the kids been unbeleivable

Most wins by any goaltender since the lockout. I would say that is worthy of being considered a top 5 goalie in the league...
Lots of people need to realize it is our defense for the most part not our goaltending that creates some of this teams issues.

His league leading 41 wins says he is. Kipper faces so much rubber that his GAA is misleading. So Yes top 5.

Brodeur has only played 19 games so far this season and was injured for most of the year. The record is great and I believe he's the best goalie of all-time but the Vezina is based on this season not his career and records.
I don't even think Brodeur will be a finalist.

It's not like it's easily obvious, from looking at the stats, that he's even the best goalie in Alberta this year, never mind the 5th best goalie in the league. A guy could make a case that he's the 4th best goalie in the NW this season.
Or am I missing the threads on this board that suggest Roloson for the Vezina?

Brodeur is great first and foremost because of his Rings. Plural.

You're not missing them. They don't exist. They likley never have on any board. Up until 3 weeks ago, national sports stations were mentioning Kipper's name in the Vezina discussion. Most were saying he'd need 50 wins to get it, but at least he was discussed. Roloson wasn't. I think the most talk I've heard about Roloson this season was how the OIlers needed to get rid of him in October. Remember that? Roli was the past, Garon was the present, and JDD was the future.

I would put him in the top 3...Brodeur,Luongo,Kiprusoff in my mind are the 3 best in the league. I hate Kipper with the fury of satan and literally want to punch him every time he lifts up that dumb mask...but he's a great goalie who not only makes big saves he makes timely saves that keep the Flames in games which in turn allows them to win more. He's a beast...if only he would keep that mask on more often.

Even with out terrible round against Detroit 2 yrs ago, it was clear without Kipper we'd have lost 4-0, he stole 2 games.
He's been when it matters one of the best in the world, and thats all that counts.
If he played for the leafs, habs or an eastern team everyone would fall all over themselves to praise him.
