Some people keep working because they want to. Rutherford is already 73-years-old, has managed two teams to Stanley Cups and he already walked away from the NHL in 2021. I think this is pretty clearly a vanity project for him.

Maybe Rutherford is just going senile.

Perhaps. But I think the resounding truth is that he is not "stuck"; he is not working against his own interests to placate his boss; he is not making panicked decisions to save his job. Rutherford is doing precisely what he believes he needs to do to make the Canucks successful. For whatever the reason is, he sucks at it.

This just confirms what we already know.
The Canucks are NG
The Sedans' are NG
The Reffing is NG
A trifecta of NG in Vancouver. Vancouver is NG 3.

So the rumor now is that Tocchett replacing Boudreau as head coach is a really possibility. Going from Boudreau to Tocchett makes no sense on paper except that it would be Rutherford going back to the well to get his guy since they were in Pittsburgh together.

Stay classy Vancouver, unless of course you are deliberately competing with Edmonton for worst culture and management group this side of Toronto.

What happened to Brock Boeser? I was a big fan of him in his draft year and he started his career off just fine. Seemed to be a sniper and developing fine. I thought he was going to rebound this season for sure after a tough year last season for him given how close he was to his dad, but things this year have been bad.

Injuries. He hasn’t been able to catch a break, which is odd because he seems to break a bone every year.

Maybe it's just because I'm a twin myself but this is hilarious. Always wanted to be able to do this but not identical.

My friend has twin daughters, and they always try things to fool their father and successful 95% of the time. Their mom though, see through it 80% of the time.

Marek says Rachel Doerrie has filed a complaint against the Canucks

Local media have done a horrible job with this story, only Boudreau has been asked about it, whom Doerrie has given nothing but praise about since leaving (Boudreau and the Sedins she has mentioned)

No one has asked Allvin or Rutherford, no one seems to know what happened

So, the things I've heard from someone that is equivalent to the Orange Julius guy is that she had no real clue what she was doing. She got demoted after they realized she was not any where near as qualified or prepared for the job as anyone expected so they started shuffling her around to try and find somewhere for her to take purchase. When they moved her from her desired role, she pushed back and they decided it was best to cut bait and walk away.

She was an "Look how forward thinking we are. Woman! In hockey OPS! Oooo"! kind of hire, but next to no thought or looking was done into her work before the hire. She got there and they realized she wasn't what they expected and panicked.

So Rachel Doerrie explains her side of the story about how she was promoted to the Canucks coaching staff then fired a few months later in a court filing.

https://twitter.com/user/status/1597013343700627457

TLDR summary: She claims that Assistant GM Emilie Castonguay did not like that Doerrie was promoted and used a retweet from Doerrie's twitter account as proof that Doerrie was feeding information to the media about her promotion. GM Alvin then fired her for talking to the media about the promotion.

Seems like a case of the new boss coming in, not respecting previous management decisions, and taking their own route.

I have empathy for her in this situation.
