If the flames got into the top 10 I’d hope their target is Savoie. He absolutely has game breaker talent, and reminds me so much of Barzal

Rights never go for much though.

We would be lucky to get a late second or early third.

What? You think a late 2nd or early 3rd is the value of a 35 goal young RFA winger? Voracek had worse numbers when he was originally traded to the Flyers and he fetched the 8th overall pick+

I watch a lot of Necas and he's not that good. I'd much rather have Mangiapane than him. Would also much rather move out Toffoli and give his money to Mangiapane.

Perhaps he's confused with UFA rights?

Mangiapane could definitely fetch a 1st round pick. Whether Ottawa would give up their first depends on who else is available. They apparently have their sights set on Fiala, who would certainly be a more valuable player than Mangiapane.

Voracek was traded WITH the 8th OA pick (and a 3rd rounder) for Jeff Carter.

Flames also traded down to get Zary. I was kinda hoping for Schneider out of Brandon who is now playing regularly for the Rangers. Zary is starting to look like another Porrier and Klimchuck.

You gotta give him another year. Zary missed time due to injury right at the beginning of the season. I'm really looking forward to how he progresses next season. Not worried about him at all.

He looked really solid on the top line for 10 games during covid and then got injured to start the next year and was playing bottom 6 on the heat.

Next year will be telling for him

He is on LTIR so it's pretty much the same cap space they had before

They would be worth the expected salary compensation, and then some.

So happy to see someone else say this. Canes were fun to follow a lot this year and I don’t get the hype about Necas at all

But yeah go ahead and be sad
‘It doesn't matter that the Flames didn't have that pick, because they were too stupid to use it properly anyway.’

Am I doing it right?

Ya, you are right. Still, Mangi is imo worth Ottawa's first.

Hamilton’s rights went for a 1st and 2 2nds

Lindholm and Hanifin’s rights went for Hamilton, Ferland, Fox

You have no idea what you are talking about as it pertains to RFA rights

Honestly that is not an ideal trade in my opinion. Barzal hasn’t scored 20+ since his rookie season and didn’t even crack 60pts this year.
