Are tickets different pricing? if it is wait until a week before and buy them on stubhub. You'll get tix from 50-80% off.

The show with Johnny ####ing Marr was good. The next time, Isaac was so hostile to anyone yelling requests.

I go to so few concerts that when a band that is in my top ten I listen to, I pretty much have to go.

Don't think I've seen a mention of Mastodon, Grey Eagle on May 4th.

Looking at pollstar listings and it really seems as though things are picking up.

I think it was mentioned in the Metal thread. Looking forward to that one.

This was announced today;

The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival will be bringing some of the biggest names in stand-up comedy to Alberta this summer

Bill Burr, David Spade and Whitney Cummings are slated to take to the Prince's Island Park stage in Calgary during the festival that runs from June 24-26.

A complete Calgary lineup will be announced in the weeks to come.

Man, I said it before but some bands/artists really seem to overshoot their venues on tours. John Fogerty is not an arena act anymore.

His show at the Saddledome this summer has less than 200 tickets sold so far. Yikes. I mean, he wouldn't sell enough to justify the Dome at reasonable prices these days, but I clicked on a floor ticket for fun and it was $344.

He was here for Stampede not too long ago and he played Millenium Park. I don't know how full it was but I could faintly hear it from my place and regretted not going. I still wouldn't pay arena prices though.

He was about 5500 at the Dome about 14 years ago or so, and has steadily declined in the years since, as most classic rock acts do.

He'd probably be a good Grey Eagle act at $50-$80/ticket. He's not 14k tickets at $80-$350 at the Dome. That's absurd.

Massive fan, been looking forward to seeing these guys for years, I don't think people fully realize Justin Hawkins' brilliance. The insane vocal range is obvious but he's such an incredible writer, arranger, and lead guitarist, plus the sense of humour entwined in so much of their material gives them another dimension.

Side note, Rufus Taylor has been on drums for the Darkness for the past 5+ years, son of Roger Taylor of Queen.

Yikes...he was great at the Corral in 2009, but that a long time ago in a building a third the size of the Dome.

Decent crowd, would you say 3/4 full? Everyone was enthusiastic and fairly loud but that band deserves a sellout anywhere they go, damn they were good.

It's amazing how effortless performing is for Justin Hawkins, incredibly talented even when he's f'ing around and not worried about nailing a particular solo. Voice was top notch, damn he was born with pipes. Incredible how he continues to write pure rock songs that could fit on a Thin Lizzy, AC/DC or Queen album but they're 100% Darkness at the same time.

I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a show that much, that was incredibly fun and nice to be back out at shows again. First time in over 2 years for me.

Yeah, 3/4 is probably accurate. Which is too bad.

We were talking about Hawkins last night. There's literally nothing else he should be doing. His voice is insane and has an amazing stage presence.

Have a pair of tickets for Corb Lund at Palamino next Friday. Can’t make it now. Anyone have Tues or Wed show they would want to do a swap? All 8 upcoming dates are sold out.
