I really like this part. It helps me visualize what is needed to satisfy the snake. 8 points better than a point per game.

8 points better than a point per game, over 71 games, is a .556 points percentage. The league average is .558. So all the Flames really need to do is be average from that point on. (Better would be nice, of course.)
At the moment, the team needs 71 points in 64 games to reach 96. That's a .555 winning percentage, so they're right on target so far, in spite of a tough road trip.
