Yeah, I agree with Jiri. LeVar was the worst guest host by a mile - I know he didn't have time to get into it, but there were a ton of unforced errors, and a major reliance on his cards. You didn't see that with some of the other guest hosts, who were in the same boat.

Still hoping Buzzy gets the role. David Faber was also a great host - he'd be a very safe choice (which might be something they're looking for right now).

Maybe next time, don't let the guy doing the hiring decisions hire himself.

They made the host too much a big deal on Jeopardy and now no host can fit that standard. Heck, a 40 year old Alex Trebek today would have a social media history and not be hired.

I agree with picking a new host and just going with it, but Drew Carey was and still is just terrible. He's so awkward trying to talk to anyone. I thought it was just bad when he first took over but I've been able to see a few episodes again over the last 2 years and he is still just as awful.

Mayim Bialik will fill in as the host of syndicated episodes of Jeopardy! in the wake of Mike Richards' exit.
Sony Pictures Television, which produces the long-running quiz show, announced that Bialik is scheduled to tape three weeks of episodes when production resumes this week for a total 15 episodes. Additional guest hosts will be announced at a later date.

This is all a result of every game show having a celebrity host now. It takes a special skill to be a host and the average actor doesn't have that skill. Regis was great on Millionaire because he had decades of hosting experience. ####ing Blossom doesn't and I'll never watch Jeopardy again if she gets the gig full-time.

I used to love game shows but I rarely watch them anymore because they have celebrity hosts and even celebrity producers who need to get their name and face out there too for some reason.

I agree that game shows and celebrity hosts need to separate themselves. I'm guessing that the producers go with celebrities in order to drive initial viewers with a recognizable name. The only "celebrity" host that I think does a decent job is Riggle on Holey Moley.

I think Steve Harvey does great with Family Feud. He has no qualms about giving it to people with terrible answers.

Steve Harvey is my least favorite host of all. Tries to turn everything into a mini stand up routine and the show just drags on as a result. As soon as it comes on I have to turn the channel.

Bialik is a home birth advocate, and what she told writer Taffy Brodesser-Akner about c-sections is particularly worrisome: “There are those among us who believe that if the baby can’t survive a home labor, it is OK for it to pass peacefully. I do not subscribe to this, but I know that some feel that… if a baby cannot make it through birth, it is not favored evolutionarily.”

In 2009, she told People magazine her family was a “non-vaccinating” one: “we based [our decision] on research and discussions with our pediatrician, and we’ve been happy with that decision,” she said in that interview.

In a blog post on the website Kveller, she also endorsed the work of Dr. Bob Sears, the son of attachment parenting guru William Sears (more on him later) who advocates for alternative vaccination schedules and opposes mandatory vaccination. At one point, he compared the “persecution” of parents who don’t vaccinate to that of Jews in Nazi Germany (he later apologized for the comparison).

I always knew she was pretty fringe, weirdly skeptical of actual science (she peddles supplements) and had anti-vax sentiments, but I didn't know about her crazy takes on home births, parenting and rape culture. Those are really...something else. Yikes.
