I can't think of a time in my life I was ever nervous ahead of a soccer game.

I had to do a double take during the post game, but he definitely said this haha
He certainly wears his heart right out there on his sleeve.

Kudos to this group of players. They have put themselves on the map at an international level, which has garnered a ton of interest from some pretty big clubs around the world. Having these players play with these larger clubs only means good things for the CMNT moving forward.
Even if we don't have a successful 2022 WC, you have to feel positive moving forward about this program heading into 2026.

Love that move for Johnston. Kone is next to move to europe shortly imo. Kick Arfield in the junk for us all for flaking on the program while you're over there Alistair.

As Arfield is on Rangers, I'm sure he'll be instructed to hand out the club standard two foot high tackle on Johnston to welcome him to the Old Firm.

Good for Johnston, I thought he played really well against Belgium.

He did. A few solid runs up the field, which haven't seen with him on the MNT.
But a couple inches taller or a few steps back and the ball doesn't get over the top and the Belgium goal doesn't happen. And his scissor tackle from behind was a bit fortunate to only get a yellow.

Kamal Miller though, hey? What a machine last game. That dude single-handedly shut down Belgium with his defensive quality. That was his best game I've ever seen him play with the MNT.

A guy on my team (Ian Diaz) has mixed emotions about Canada potentially scoring their first goal in the WC. As it stands, he holds the distinction of scoring Canada’s first ever goal in a FIFA WC event at the beach World Cup haha.

Tajon is good enough to play at one of the top clubs. He’s an elite talent.

Source? Not on Johnston going to play for the other Glasgow team.
Arfield moved aside at the right time for MNT; bought enough time for younger players to come through and then got out of the way.
On topic, any opportunity for Canadian men and women to get broader exposure and to raise the Canadian profile is a good thing. So good luck to Johnston.
Good article on bbc about CPL players at inver caley being excited for the boys that they knew from Canada and the inspiration it gives them.
