I think the only reason Seattle, Vegas and Calgary had such good odds is after those teams there is a drop off a cliff. So 3 teams expected to make it to the conference finals, makes sense with those odds.

Boy I am thankful that we are in a spot but we need a winning streak now.
The Oilers, being so average almost makes me even more happy.
It's been said many times, but wait till December when the schedule eases up.
Out of 19 games so far, 14 have been against the top half of the league; 5 against the bottom half. In December, we play 2 games against the top half and 14 against the bottom half.
Oof. Being insulted by a guy who pretended to be a police officer and also told twitter that he was a friend of the family of Johnny Gaudreau really stings. If a guy like that thinks I am a terrible poster, then I should probably leave everything behind and move to Australia. I am not sure how I will ever recover from that.
It's been a while snake fans. Yesterday's win moves the Flames to a record of 29-25-5 over the first 59 games. The red snake has only been above the black line twice, once after game 1 and the other after game 4. The furthest it has been from the black line was after game 55, when it was 9.390 points below it.
The quickest the red snake could get back above the black line is after game 67. That would involve winning the next 8 games in a row, running the current win streak up to 12. The red snake is currently on pace for 87.5 points, well below the 96 point barrier. A record of 16-6-1 (118 point pace) in the final 23 regular season games would get the snake to 96 points at the end of the year.
The purple snake is a throwback to 2014-15, which finished at 97 points. It had a 7 game pointless streak, which is one game longer than the 2023-24 snake, and still finished above the black line.
