Im with Shaw and it was wrong as well. Looking at twitter, looks like same occurred with Bell and all of the providers. Thank god it didn’t happen with last year’s Abu Dhabi. Seems like today hasn’t been that eventful.
Reviewing the entire season, last week was definitely near the top imo.
Actually if it happened last year it would still have been fine. Latifi crashed at the end... lol

F1 is so bad at covering races. There were multiple important battles today besides Lec/Per battle for 2nd. Not just for WDC but for the WCC. But do you think the absolutely awful world feed graphics would give us any live updates on the status of scoring for these? Nope. Not a single graphic all race.
Sky failed at this too. Crofty barely mentioned any of the battles for places in either WDC or WDC standings.
Did McLaren catch Alpine? Did AT catch Haas? Did AM catch AR?
I think they mentioned McLaren on the last lap once. Otherwise, not a word in 2 hours of coverage. Some were obvious, AT and Haas were both out of the points, but they could have at least mentioned that there were possibilities for the final standings.
Sai/Rus/Ham were also battling for final standings, and Ham’s retirement dropped him from 5 to 6, but they could have at least mentioned that their positioning mattered.
Just terrible presentation of their product.

Alright folks...pro tip...get F1TV. We loved it and it'll save your bacon when TSN screws it up or cuts from the action.
But more importantly...the final results are in! FurnaceFace is the 2022 CalPuck F1 Fantasy Champ! Great season with a close battle between you and woob who held on to 2nd from TimSJ.
I have PM'd you both...and will get your prizes organized and ordered. DoubleK is working on getting the trophy back (PS post a pic of it in your mancave or place of honour!).
Thanks to everyone for participating this year as well. Ferrari could've made it a lot more exciting if they didnt go full Ferrari every race. But next season is looking intriguing already. Merc's look much better, theres a bunch of rookie drivers, and RBR gets less wind tunnel time for cheating.
Couple ideas for next year as well, so feel free to toss them in this thread and I'll try to keep track of them: 1) Bump entry fee to $20 2) Clean Sheet Bonus (pick zero Top 10, get a 30-50pt bonus) 3) Sprint Race points being included 4) Bump correct slot up to 6pts from 4pts.
Spoiler!

Thanks for volunteering your time again this year flamesrule. Congrats to the winners. I’m glad the off-season is short. Can’t wait for car reveals and testing to begin in a few months.
Good job Woob and to Tim for making it interesting for 2nd. I lucked out with the slotted wins in a couple of races which was the difference.
I’m good with a little higher entry fee as long as it isn’t an impact on everyone else. Maybe just a $5 bump?
Clean sheet…would need to see if you just picked the bottom 10 cars from 2021 what the score would be using the 2022 results. I could see the possibility of that hitting frequently.
Sprint points…maybe…not a big fan of them because they aren’t in all races. Maybe if the points are minor like just 1 for a correct slot, 0 for top 10.
4 vs 6 points…no real opinion. I don’t think that would have had an impact on the standings this year.
Fastest pit stop…isn’t it just RBR nearly every race?

Received a Vegas F1 offer from MGM but I'm too poor to take advantage of it. Bellagio grandstand, three day ticket for just under $3000 per person not including a hotel room. I wish I could swing that but I would be in big trouble if I even suggested it.
Thanks again DoubleK for dropping it off! I've got this years prizes so woob and FurnaceFace PM to pick up. I'm gone Sat night for a week, so lemme know.

Ross Brawn, Formula 1’s retiring managing director of motorsport, revealed to Motorsport.com that rule-makers are looking at active aerodynamics to improve the racing. F1 would likely use active aero to boost the performance of following cars. In the wake of other cars, drivers would theoretically be allowed to have lower downforce levels in the straight for higher straight-line speeds and higher downforce levels in the corners for higher cornering speeds. Brawn also posited that the system could be used as a reverse DRS to prevent the race leader from driving away from the field.
