"Oh my God! I'm sorry y'all."
This week, the teams travel to France and the land of 1,001 castles... so named because there's 1,001 castles. Glenda & Lumumba hit a ditch, then hit the road.
This was one of those legs where the last place team was never in the same shot as any of the other teams, so they were almost-certainly much further behind than the edit made it appear.
A lot of teams struggled with navigation on this leg, but it ultimately didn't matter. It does make me think that something new needs to be added to the list of things you need to be able to do before you go on the Amazing Race, and that's knowing how to navigate using a paper map. We're probably at a point where anyone under 35 has never not had access to GPS, so they never learned how to use a map and it shows.

Damn man, back to back eliminations sink me! Well, Covid got one of them. At least I outlasted Surferguy's strategy.

I was hoping that Aubrey and David were last, just to shake things up a bit, but Glenda and Lumumba have survived longer than they should have.
This week was one of the first where I enjoyed all the tasks.
I remember an interview with Kim and Penn last year and he said that Kim made them go to map reading school before the race, even though they were both old enough to remember paper maps. He also said that driving themselves was the most stressful part of the race, so I hope they keep this feature.

"I wasn't recruited, but I had some friends who told me I should play rugby."
This week, the teams travel to Toulouse. The brothers have problems navigating and playing rugby, but get it together in the end to finish 4th. The cheerleaders also have navigation problems, but they don't get it together, so they're going home.
It was likely another leg where the editing made the race to the pit stop seem a lot closer than it actually was.

I think I'd have rather laid bricks over recite poetry. My pronunciation in French as always been atrocious.
Not a bad leg, though the two cheerleaders just seemed completely outclassed in this one.

The brothers having trouble navigating is a first. They been taking lots of short cuts and maybe it finally caught up to them.

I would never have chosen the poetry unless I actually spoke French. The brick task didn't look that hard.

Is anyone else finding it a struggle to watch this season? I love this show, but I don't know if it's the cast or what, but I just don't have the desire to watch. Is anyone else finding this season like this?

I thought they were gonna eliminate Emily & Molly because of the injury -- when the cheerleaders got to the mat he said "You know we have to eliminate a team on every leg" or something like that but never said "You have been eliminated from the race" -- usually when he doesn't say it they drag it out and say psyche you're actually not eliminated. But then it just showed them walking away, and Emily & Molly are in the preview for next week. I wonder if they weren't sure if Emily & Molly were going to be able to continue at that time so didn't "officially" eliminate the cheerleaders when they got to the mat.

I record it and fast forward through parts almost every episode. I never did that before. I find a lot of the challenges boring this season.

The challenges really are dull. Like, something you'd see on studio game shows.

It might be because of COVID causing TAR to stay around more developed and Western areas, so we're missing some of the more remote and distant locations where some of the most memorable challenges and legs have been.
TAR 35 is filming (nice to see CBS going back to two seasons per year) and supposedly many of its locations are in South America, which should help with the variety and uniqueness of legs.

They really should've eliminated Emily & Molly, she can barely walk at this point and aren't a serious threat to win with that going on.

"I love heights. I'm so excited. I just love heights."
This week, the Mega-leg continues in Andalusia. Emily keeps limping through and the brothers can't catch up after stumbling last week.
This is the third straight elimination where the last place team never sees any of the other teams at any point in the leg and the editing made it seem closer than it likely was.

Next week: The teams travel to Iceland and race for a spot in the final 3. Can Emily's knee hold up or will it be the end of the line for them?

Michelle's enthusiasm is pretty infectious, she seems so damn thrilled to be there doing that stuff. Love seeing it.
I was impressed with Claire apologizing to the wire-walking monitors
I really hope that Molly and Emily get eliminated, as I get the feeling that Emily's knee won't make for an interesting Final Three.
Next week's Race looks like it's gonna be pretty awesome

Luis & Michelle are probably my favorite, pulling for them to win. Just seem like a very positive, enthusiastic couple with a lot of support for each other. The remaining teams are all decent, just like them the best.

The Amazing Race always seems to have people who are afraid of heights. It was a nice change for someone to say, "I love heights. I'm so excited to do this challenge!"
