Default Summer 2015 Prospect Ranking - Round 21

it's time.

Calgarypuck's 3rd annual Prospect Ranking Poll!

Going with the 25 and under with 65 or less games played at the NHL level which actually works pretty closely with my own rule of thumb of "anyone not too old that hasn't been penciled in".

Therefore Granlund, Ortio and Ferland are still prospects.

Monahan and Gaudreau are young but clearly established and no longer prospects. Bennett may be penciled in but he's only played 12 NHL games and is a prospect.

I went Mangiapane over Sieloff and Carroll

Still think there's a good 7-9 guys on the remaining list of 16 that are interesting as well.

Hathaway for me again. I really don't know all that much about the prospects left, but I do think there are still some very interesting ones left at 21.

Going Mangiapane as he has he highest skill upside of anyone left on the board. I still like Gilmour, Carroll, Hathaway, and Kanzig.

Holy crap...my autocorrect is insisting that Kanzig = Danzig. Apparently my autocorrect is a metal fan.

I've got Mangiapane now, then I've hit a new tier I'm not big on

If Kanzig becomes an NHLer, there are so many good Photoshop opportunities with that.

Either that or it's planning an invasion of Poland.

Voted Carroll. Don't think he will be a top 6 player, but if he does make it as a bottom 6 guy he could be the "pest" that i have wanted on the flames for a while. I go to the odd Royals game and that kid is always chirping and getting under players skin.

I got Gilmour also, he's not far behind Culkin & Kulak IMO.

Went Mangiapane for the 2nd time.

Ollas Mattson & Kaurnakov also on my prospects of interest list.

Voting Mangiapane. Shouldn't be this far down... I looked up players of similar height(within two inches), with similar NHLe in their draft & draft+1 seasons, and the list had a more NHLers than busts.

That list is:
Mike Camalleri (who was actually his closest comparable in every way down to birthdate, the more specific I got, he was the only guy left)
Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau
Stanislav Lascek (bust)
Mathieu Perreaut
Jason Zucker
Kyle Rau (Panthers Prospect, just turned pro)
Tobias Reider (Coyotes rookie, played 70+ games)
Brendan Leipsic (Leafs prospect acquired in the Franson trade)
Anthony Duclair (Coyotes prospect acquired in the Yandle trade)
Eric Locke (bust)

A lot of still-prospects on the list. Another comparable who popped up often with some other criteria shuffled around was Derek Roy.

I think we should have a pole once all the rounds have ended to predict which player will have risen the most in Summer 2016 Prospect Ranking.

Going with Carroll now. Flames seem to really love the guy. If you listen to Treliving it's not about what he's going to bring to the team but only a matter of when. Big Ferlandy type of nautral RW. Good enough for me. Mangiapane would be my alternate vote. But I'm weary, the Flames also had Barrie Colts super points netter in Bryan Cameron before and he flubbed.

There's something wrong about Mangiapane winning this round while Karnaukhov gets pitiful 1 vote (mine).
While being projected a scorer - just like Mangiapane - Pavel is also bigger, stronger and meaner. He was also drafted sooner - and for a reason. Heck, even the russian factor isn't in play since he's already in NA.
Well, I get it - we got blessed with Johnny. But guys please - miracles doesn't happen that often...
