I hope someone looks into it and gets an explanation on the Nodler and Koumontzis situations.

I can understand that there might be some unknown and rarely-used clause for Nodler's situation since he has completed 4 years in the NCAA, which if not for the COVID extension, would have been the end of his time.

Koumontzis is 5 years since his draft and he has already played pro games, so he certainly won't be going back to play more NCAA games. I can't see any reason why his rights wouldn't have expired.

Based on what parts of the CBA are actually vague on this, best we can surmise is it has to do with college graduation versus college playing eligibility.

Your NCAA eligibility can expire before you graduate. Or you can meet most of the requirements to graduate before your NCAA eligibility expires. The COVID years threw a lot of schools (and the NCAA) for a loop.

Where is this question coming from?
The "D" in the tweet is his first initial, and the ASU site has him as a forward, despite referencing the switch...

He did switch from Forward to Defence last season, so it's a valid question.

Where is this question coming from? me i guess..
He was drafted as a forward but hockey db has him listed as a defenseman and the press release from the ECHL Idaho Steelheads references him being a defenseman.

Being a forward wasn't working, so he became a defenseman and scored a pro gig.

Taking the next logical step and converting to a goaltender may just get him to the NHL.
