Holy ####, HIV or Liver cancer? That's a hell of a thing to have hanging over your head for 6 months.
Glad to hear it wasn't anything so severe.

Yeah, it hasn't been an easy go of it during a pandemic, especially as a lot of tests had to be delayed, but it all finally worked out.
At least it gave me the impetus to cut back on drinking and lose some weight.

A visit to the hospital on Wednesday turned into a 60 hour stay at the Rockyview Hospital.
Just wanted to shout out to the nurses on Unit 94. Everyone was absolutely fantastic, professional, and just overall great to me. Admittedly I was pretty easy to deal with compared to some of my roommates but everyone seems happy to be there and happy to be doing the job.
Really made me happy.

My brothers wife is recovering well from Covid 19. She still has a bit of a cough and struggles with energy to do anything. With things closed in Minnesota she can't back to her job in a bar where she sells Nevada tickets.

My mother turned 84 today and earlier this week passed her medical to get her drivers license renewed for a year. She values her independence and is grateful to be able to still drive.

Discovering Tuk Tuk Thai makes me very happy. I usually avoid Thai restaurants in Calgary because they're never close to the real deal, but after trying this place on whim for lunch I was pleasantly surprised. Closest representation I've seen to Thai street food here, and it's just damn delicious. Coming from a downtown food court it really has no business being as good as it is

There are plenty of good Thai restaurants in this city. You just need to communicate that you want it made a certain way.

In a discussion about old video games, someone brought up Leisure Suit Larry.
Larry Laffer!
My bros and I would play that game in secret from my parents when I was like 10. Talk about fond memories!
I played Police Quest a lot too, which was similar.... minus the 16-bit pixelated babes.

The Space Quest series was my favourites. IV was probably the best of them all.
I found my copy of Leisure Suit Larry III. Just when high density 3 1/2’s were becoming more popular, so it had both 3 1/2 and a huge pile of 5 1/4’s you’d spend swapping in and out to install the game. That game probably did more to encourage safe sex than any PSA. His penis falls off and then he dies.
Amazing how far games have come since 80s consoles to computer games.

I've still got Kings Quest V here. It came on I think 5 or so 3 1/2" disks, this was 16 colour. But you could then mail a card in and get the 256 colour version for free, so I've got those disks. I remember seeing the 256 colour version as a kid and thinking the game looked just like real life.

I remember the questions you had to answer to prove you were over 18 had something to do with the Bay of Pigs. Still don't know what it actually was but had the answer memorized back then!

ha ha. One of the first verses online games I ever played.
It sucked whenever one of your buddies got faster computers or faster internet. My computer would lag, and I'd be dead. No chance.
I still remember some of the quotes.
- Its time to kick azz and chew bubblegum... and I'm all outta gum.
- You're an inspiration for birth control
- Come Get Some!!

I remember trading games with kids at school on disks. Every good game was like 10 discs, and inevitable one of the disks was corrupted, so sometimes it took weeks of back and forth just to get the whole set to work. But when you did, hoo boy!
Those early computer/internet years were great. We were all a bit naive sure, but at that point it was all onward and upward.
