Well, game 7 at home, this is why we worked hard to win the division and have home ice advantage. We were down 2 games to 1, fought back to 3-2. Obviously hard to win three games in a row in the playoffs, especially for this group that is still learning how to exorcise past demons, and put forward a winning effort consistently in the playoffs.
I hated the sag after they tied it up, thought it was strange because they were really playing well, then they just sagged, fought the puck on exits and struggled to maintain possession. Credit to Dallas as that was the best they have played all series.
Anyways I believe they will win game 7.

To be fair it’s not like Brad knew Tyler would get a bunch of chances and not be able to cash in on any of them in 6 playoff games. We didn’t lose any roster players in those deals and Jarnkrok is basically in the same boat as Toffoli. Around the action but not getting on the scoresheet.
Just my own opinion but Tre has at least assembled a competitive roster. It’s ultimately on the players to out play their opponents.

This series has been gut-wrenching, but I suppose that’s what the NHL playoffs are about. Now we have a Game 7 in a series in which the Flames were strong consensus favourites.
Lots of talk here tonight - and consistently around this franchise - about the ghosts of past playoff failures. Rightly so.
However, there are reasons for hope and optimism:
- home ice advantage & the C of Red
- Markstrom is better than Oetinger
- Johnny is the best forward in this series
- we are overdue for an offensive breakout. Sooooo overdue.
- we have been the superior team according to all the underlying metrics
Let’s hope the Flames can flip the script on the ghosts of playoffs past, and do something remarkable on Sunday.

I think it's pretty obvious his hand is messed up from his last fight. It was bloody and shaking when he was icing it in the penalty box. The question is whether it's broken or just strained.

The funny thing about the Toffoli and Jarnkrok trades is that a big percentage of all of us were asking for this trade.

Toffoli's girl needs to give him the best night of ..morale boosting. Or drive out to the mountains, jump in some freezing cold glacial water, cleanse off all that BS and come back as the player we all know he can be.
Whatever he can do for himself between now and Sunday, he needs a hard reset and come into the next game a new man. He has all the scoring ability in the world in those mitts of his. He just needs to burn the last few weeks of piss luck from his mind and fall back on his natural instincts.
That guy looks completely in his own way. Shooting in the wrong spot every time, somehow, and the pucks that trickle through bounce out the other side instead of in, adding insult to injury.

and to be honest if that happened it fits Sutters narrative.
"he's a young player and he's learning"
Darryl is telling the media without lying that he needs to realize he's more important putting up points than he is trying to be a tough guy.

Still an opportunity for dividends. But the closing bell is about to ring.

Every other GM in the league would make those same trades in Tre's place.
You can't ever know how a player will perform down the stretch, but both were excellent gambles given the costs and the position the Flames were in.

Toffoli yes, Jarnkrok no. Doesn’t score, doesn’t hit and can’t win a face off to save his life. I wish Darryl would bench his ass but he won’t.

Yep, like I said to Dion the fight was unnecessary. He got his pound of flesh in game 2 and he should have been done with it. Leave the fighting to guys who actually fight.

Saying Tkachuk gave up on this team is an embarrassing thing to post, and I have been super disappointed with his play overall.
But that assertion is ridiculous.

Too many disappointments, and not a single bounce has gone our way all series.
Flames are cursed, no clue what we did to deserve this crap but I’m sick of bull#### puck luck making Oettenger look good.

Lifted the Cup on Montreal Forum ice! The hockey gods placed a curse that as of yet, has not been broken!
Should have never won a cup on the ice owned by Maurice Richard, Jean Beliveau, Jacques Plante, Guy Lafluer, Georges Vezina, or Ken Dryden. We are still paying for it.

Ruzicka in might spark a goal out of your bottom six. He can make some great passes. I think I make the gamble.
Especially if Stone needs to draw in as one of the mainstays and we go back to 12 & 6.

Which is why you can't blame Tre.
These were both almost universally liked moves. They have to do their jobs, it's not on Tre or Sutter or anyone else.
