Henry winter said it best but having a league where 11 of the teams cant get relegated for 20 years is not entertaining

Assuming they would have some kind of relegation or promotion, what happens if man united finish last.. but dont get relegated and the team that finishes 3rd and 4th last has to go?

If this does happen it needs to have a proper relegation and promotion set up with the other european leagues

Also going back to the lack of relegation, for the 11 guaranteed teams, they have no incentive to spend, they can effectively be a feeder club, in a super league, and have no consequences

Liverpool losing to Red Star would certainly throw that group into total chaos.

Monaco losing 3-0 at home ... to FC Brügge. Going to get ugly for Thierry Henry quickly.

If Napoli win today then PSG-Liverpool on the 28th pretty much becomes an elimination match.

If they can’t progress that’s likely preferable?

I don’t know what else they can do here. They obviously got caught in the first corner and that was terrible. But they generated a lot of good chances and Zoey was just plain good. He made 3-4 big stops, and Spurs should have at least leveled it.

It's pretty hilarious we're staring at the very real possibility of FIVE PL teams in Europa League.

Spurs win, and if you saw the game you know it was never in doubt.

I'd say most North American leagues don't get interesting till well past their halfway point. They play so many matches that the playoff races don't really get exciting till later in the season. Additionally, the playoffs make the regular season virtually meaningless. How often do regular season games become classics because they have an impact on the title race?

You are missing out on the connection and relevance the club system gives a much greater percentage of the population. In North America, what percentage of the population has a local team? Although people do often adopt a team, it is not the same a local club. Supporting Arsenal from Calgary is a lot different than supporting Arsenal in London. It is not to say the Calgary Gooners are not real fans but it is a much different experience following a club that is rooted in the community than a team with which you may feel an attachment.

The attraction of seeing your club play the club from down road or "that" part of the country is far stronger than seeing my super club play that super club. "Best or Bust" misses out on a whole lot of emotion/meaning that makes sport so great. Furthermore, the Super League is not about pitting the best against each other. It's the super rich protecting their assets and curtailing both risk and agent/player power*. If anything, it will replicate the existing situation with a handfull of clubs dominating the Super League.

*It's worth noting that reigning in player power is not going to lead to reduced costs for fans or increase the accessibility of the game.

I'm not even sure you can call that a pure dive by Sterling, he tripped himself up more than anything. Still awful call to give the penalty there.

one of the most ridiculous decisions I've ever seen.

I don't expect Sterling to do the honourable thing here, but from a PR standpoint it certainly could have helped City these days.
