Took a deep breath and said yes to one of these this weekend. It's my new daily driver.

But for 20 grand they can't throw in free shipping?

Wow. That brings up a question - how many watches can a man realistically have and still properly enjoy them? Or is it enough just to know you have it, even if very rarely worn? Women at least have 10 fingers for all their rocks; we, sadly, can only wear one at a time.

Well...I have 24 watches. I usually have 3 of them at a time on a weekly rotation.

I feel like I have to justify to myself that it's ok to spend $25k on a watch - hard for me to do. But women don't seem to have that problem with baubles or purses.

You and the women you associate with obviously live in a completely different reality than most of us here! 25k for baubles/purses, seriously?

What do you mean? There are several people on here who have shown their $20k watches - there is like 4 of them in that pic. I don't have one and don't know if I can justify that to myself. That's all I said - my point was that women seem to have less of that guilt/sense of wasted impracticality. I made no comments about what baubles/purses my wife specifically has.

Haha! Prior to kids I had a period of acquiring watches. Now I have a Panerai with a broken spring and an Omega Plant Ocean running slow and I am struggling to justify the cost of servicing both of them! I have two others that I am currently wearing on a rotating basis - hoping they keep running smoothly.

Seems to be a common issue with Panerais.
My collection right now consists of all brands hated by purist.

I'm just glad I was able to buy myself one nice Omega while I was still single and had disposable income. Now with a wife, two kids, mortgage...not sure I could justify a Seiko.

You could try to self-regulate your watches. I've seen a few tutorials and it seems like it's just moving the bar to +/- and getting a cheap vibration timer.

I'm still in that category. I was able to get a new job recently and rewarded myself by getting a new watch. I'll post new pics as I wear them to the office. It's hard to justify anything even over $300 though and I'm bargain hunting hard.
Where do you guys normally get watches? I'm a little adverse to buying from overseas online because of customs and brokerage fees but I may break down because I can't find a Seiko SKX007 on Amazon Prime.
I got the Orient Mako II yesterday from Amazon for $220. It's been as low as $204 according to camelcamelcamel.
I've been watching way too much Urban Gentry on Youtube and I had to get a cheap $9 leather NATO on it as well. Sorry the iphone sucks at macro photography.

I've got the Panerai, two Omegas, and a Zenith. Probably giving the purists the heebie jeebies as well.
