Default Where is Karri Rämö?

I didn't figure that he would be signed by a team in the summer given the seriousness of his injury last Spring, but there has been virtually no news about him since the start of training camp.

His NHL career is probably over, but will he even continue to play hockey? I thought there would have been word of him on an AHL roster or signing somewhere in Europe by now.

Where is Karri Rämö?

Unsigned, IIRC. He's still a UFA, floating out there in the autumn breeze.

Rehabbing still I would guess. He wasn't expected to be near ready until this month anyway so I'm not surprised we haven't heard anything. He'll probably surface somewhere in a month or so.

Thanks, TheScorpion for essentially restating the content of my first post.

Maybe the Kings contact him?

So... you knew the answer, asked the question anyways, and then responded sarcastically when someone gave you the answer that you already knew?

No. I know that there has been no news since training camp, and was interested to hear from someone who had heard anything differently.

There was a rumour a while back like in the summer that the Leafs were considering bringing him to camp, but that Ramo wouldn't be 100% healthy by then.

I am sure he will surface at some point. My guess is it will be in the KHL though.

I really don't think he is as bad as his stats suggest, but at his age, I think he has more earning potential in the KHL as a starter than in the NHL trying to prove himself still.

I'm hoping so. The injury he sustained was bad, and I recall some speculating that it could be career ending.

I agree the KHL is probably now the best fit for him, especially now that Helsinki has a team in the KHL he could find a nice gig for himself playing at home.

Entirely possible he doesn't come back given the severity of it. I was just going off of last update I heard from Treliving which to be fair, was this past summer.

You didn't mention the autumn breeze though. That really completed the post I felt.

His injury was really unfortunate. I think he is an okay backup. Definitely a better goalie than Peter Budaj.

It might not amount to anything, but Ramo is hanging around ACC

I am actually pulling for Ramo to find work. Sure, he was a tire fire for some stretches, but he got sent down to the AHL, accepted his demotion well, worked hard and took to heart what Sigalet suggested he improve on. He came back and gave the Flames competent goaltending until his unfortunate injury. I think he was a class act. Hiller didn't seem to have that. Ortio refused to accept a conditioning stint in the AHL. Ramo? He gave it his all for this team, and for that alone I wish him the best.

I still feel he is a competent backup. I am also eager to find out if other teams are interested in him, and I hope he really finds a spot in the NHL again this season as other teams experience some injury issues.
