Am I crazy remembering some strange rumor that the flames wanted Troy Terry? Does anyone remember the context of that rumor?
That would have been a very nice acquisition in retrospect lol. I seem to remember posting about how Terry seemed like a very average player and I didn't understand the interest. Crow to mouth.

Troy Terry was definitely available at one point
Never heard us connected to him and I keep pretty good tabs on that stuff but maybe I missed it. Division rival and all I don’t know what the deal would have even looked like. Bennett maybe?

It was definitely in the context of Bennett, thanks Neo. That's right.

I don't think that's true. Vilardi was a big faller, Suzuki and Necas went right around where they were ranked (Suzuki arguably a little ahead of his ranking).
I think most people were hoping for Necas or Suzuki because they were the only ones that had a remote chance of falling to 16, not because they were better than Vilardi.

I think this team needs a boost. We are set up really well standings wise and our top guys are producing.
The bottom six needs some more skill and scoring, the production from 3-5 players won't help supplement where this team can go. We have some prospects in the AHL (Pelletier and Ruzicka) that can produce then explore some trades in the coming months.
The organization needs some more productive D (Andersson and Hanifin #s points wise aren't enough at the moment).
Goaltending has been far above average or expected at this point.
Gaudreau Lindholm Tkachuk
Mangi Monahan/McCann/Strome Kessel/Hertl/C.Brown/Coleman/Pavelski
Dube Backlund Coleman/C. Brown
Lucic Richardson Pelletier/Ruzicka/Lewis
Lindholm/Andersson Hanifin
Kylington Tanev
DeHaan/Chariot/Ghostisbehere Gudbranson

I've been wondering if Eberle might become available at any point if Seattle is looking to miss the playoffs. Right wing, right handed shot, good start to the season.

I would love to have ebs. Wanted him last year too.
I think he's still got some good clutch juice left in him. Mangi-Monahan-Eberle might be a fun line!

Eberle has been so up and down with the Kraken this year. If that keeps up I could absolutely see him available. Problem might be his contract.

I think Eberle makes a lot of sense. He can play Sutter hockey and can also add some offence.

Eberle isn't a play driver so he needs to play with someone who is.
Depending on the cost - not a bad guy to target.

sources have confirmed to me that four teams: Buffalo (e3), Nashville (e2), and the NY Islanders (e3) and the Devils (e4) are all poking around regarding Monahan.

Something around Monahan + for Forsberg would be ideal; what’s the + or ++?? Monahan + Valimaki + mid pick? Not enough?

I don't mind Eberle but he'd be a whipping boy here in no time.

This is true, but also describes almost all NHLers. How many play drivers are actually out there?
It was in another thread but I agreed that maybe Flames should stack two lines (Backlund-Mangiapane-Coleman being the 2nd). Then two checking lines that hopefully don't hurt you too badly.
Monahan doesn't fit in that mix, but could you get a veteran C who is defensive minded that would fit?
