Guitar for me. And ironically it was also Green Day's 'When I Come Around' that really got me into it. Specifically the Woodstock '94 performance.
Jackson Dinky is my go to electric. Even has flames on the fretboard
Also have a cheap black electric I bought for working in camp, don't even know the brand. I never play it.
A couple acoustic guitars too, Washburn and a Yamaha.
I'm self taught (along with the help of Guitar World in the 90's and now UltimateGuitar) and am decent enough. Started doing vocals simultaneously a few years ago and wow is that ever hard. But through practice I've gotten pretty decent.
I like to do an acoustic rendition of Square Hammer but it seems my group of friends dont really know who Ghost is

Guitar for me. Bought my first guitar out of a sears catalog when I was 14 (yamaha). Since upgraded to an Ibanez electric guitar and Roland amp. Play purely for fun, Im ok at it but won't ever be a rock star. We had a garage band in high school and I also learned to play myself using magazines like guitar world and guitar player and reading tabs. Looking at getting an acoustic one as well but haven't dove into getting it as of yet.

I am a fingerstylist so an acoustic player I guess. Tears in Heaven is what got me into playing, which was about 18 years ago.
Dabbled in Drums a bit and played the trumpet in junior high. My dream is to play the piano but man is that instrument hard to play.

I play guitar - used to play bass in a band a long time ago, but haven't touched one for 15 years or so.
I really only play acoustic these days, mostly fingerpicking (huge Lindsey Buckingham fan).
Electrics:
Parker Fly Deluxe
D'Angelico Deluxe Atlantic
Acoustics:
Gibson Black "Dove" (Elvis model)
Seagull Artist Mosaic
But I really only play the Seagull these days. Great guitar!

The Instrument/Musician Thread
Guitar mostly
- home assembled Tele with a fat vintage neck, noiseless pickups and 4 way switch
- mothballed Charvel strat thing
- Simon & Patrick acoustic
- Yamaha classical
- beater acoustic from my youth
- Chinese P-bass knockoff
- Yamaha upright piano
- midi keyboard from my son - still trying to do something useful with it
Played bass when I was younger and am still probably more useful on it than guitar.
Trying some recording with limited results, commensurate with the time I have available to work on it

Play guitar....not well but I try!
Nothing truly upper end:
Yamaha RGX-TT (Ty Tabor signature in red...Ty is my favourite guitarist. His last solo album Alien Beans is a must listen IMO).
Guild Polara S-100 in black...use this mostly for drop tunings.
PRS SE Standard 245 in Cherry
And then I have a reasonably cheap Fender Hellcat acoustic.
I want a Petrucci Majesty but that's not likely to ever happen $$$ wise and my lousy playing certainly doesn't justify it!

I’ve performed on stage as Kenny Rogers (not karaoke) in addition to the three instruments I’ve mentioned previously.

Damn, aren't these custom shop only? As a man with a deep love for Gilmour's tone, my hats off to you.
What's your top 5 pedals? Rat, Big Muff, CS-2?

The Instrument/Musician Thread
Mezzo soprano of some sort. Working on “Stride la vampa” from Verdi’s Il Trovatore.
I did sing melodic death metal a long time ago but gave it up for embarrassing reasons ( akin to self -sabotage and fear of success). Was even supposed to meet and sing with Chuck Schuldiner. May that gorgeous and wonderful creature RIP.
So many operas are similar to death metal in subject matter. Il Trovatore is certainly full of vengeance and gore.

Yes, unfortunately, a custom shop, I say that because I can say with all honesty that they are not worth the money. I was lucky enough to purchase when they first came out and since then Fender has raised their prices 15-20% twice and our dollar was much higher as well. For a custom shop, I had to shim the neck and replace the screws in the bridge. I love the guitar, but if i had a Mexican with the same pickups I could love that just as well

I never really chased the Pulse era sound as I don't have the DG-20 pickups he had in that red guitar (would love too) I more leaned towards the Darkside of the Moon and Wish You Were Here
Favoutie pedals: BK Tube Driver, Foxrox Hot silcon fuzz, Foxrox Aquavibe, MXR Phase 90
The funny thing is, I play Gilmourish style gear, trying to sound like Hendrix while playing Clapton songs... we are what we eat lol

That is hilarious, my keyboard player used to play for Larry Gowen. I am sure you get better stories though lol.

Guitar here. Nothing crazy for me, Two Gibsons and the rest are Epiphone (because I'm cheap), I just mess around alone at home.
