We still have a non-elected senate and a Governor General as options who could step in if there were significant shenanigans both would cause constitutional crisis. Our elected dictator model does have more reliance on norms then the US model. The key difference is that our system is designed so that the house picks the Prime minister.

People are saying actor/comedian Jay Johnston (Mr Show, Bob’s Burgers) is wanted by the FBI for being involved with the assault on the Capitol. It’s not confirmed but other comedians have said on Twitter that it’s him.
