I was going to by a 4K Apple TV this weekend, to replace the one that fried on me, but then I found out about tomorrow's event. This would be the perfect time to announce a new model, and then make it available right after the event is over!
iOS 13 CarPlay looks considerably better with the split screen. Between that and the dark mode it is why I couldn't go away form the beta's regardless of the other stuff not working.
Might have to get an 11 Pro ... been a while since I've upgraded my iPhone and I'm intrigued by the new camera's.
They really need to improve the screen on the non "pro" devices though. Trying to charge $1000 for a phone that has a 1792-by-828-pixel resolution at 326 ppi is pretty ridiculous in 2019.
You can get a $450 Samsung A50 that has a 1080 x 2340 pixel screen with 403 ppi.

Having the extra cameras is awesome. I use my wide angle on my S10 a lot and it's great to be able to get more stuff in the frame. Was hoping for something revolutionary out of Apple, but maybe next time.

I am by no stretch a tech guy, I still have a 6, but when was the last time Apply had something revolutionary with their phone(s)?

iPhone 11 could have been branded as a stopgap iPhone. With so many underwhelming updates, and a lack of revolutionary changes, Maybe hold out for the 12s or something, Let them work out all the kinks mid 2021

I think the iPhone X was the first major-ish shift in form factor, so I would say that?
You could pickup an original iPhone or an iPhone 8 and switch between them with ease. The iPhone X would at least make you take a second to think about it.
What "big step" could the 12 possibly take? Everything has been incremental for the last decade. I'm not sure there are many big steps left to take in this market, other than price increases.

In context.
Switching to an OLED screen, removing the notch for true full screen, revamped overall design, full-screen Touch ID, Time-of-Flight sensor, another big jump in battery, etc.
Just as X was a “big step” there’s still a few more of those left for Apple to take. They have the best phone in a lot of ways but fall behind other phones in other ways. And if the rumours of the 12 are to believe, they’re looking to close up a bunch of those gaps.

You’re right, there are tons of upgrades they still need to make. A 90 or even 120Hz screen would be welcome. I’d like to see them bring back Touch ID. Face ID works great but I prefer a fingerprint reader. Pencil support would be a welcome addition. Did they mention 5G?
I’m going to skip this phone. My X works perfect and I have my S10+ as a backup and its cameras are good enough.
In screen Touch ID will probably be back for the next one, though if Face ID is improved enough maybe not. I've come to like Face ID and the only time I don't is when my phone is flat on my desk, and supposedly the new version will work like that.
And the 11 Pro supposedly gives a 4 hour battery life bump, that's pretty amazing if true.
But yeah maybe not enough to warrant upgrading from an X. If I was heavy on the photo or video part I might feel different, and we'll see how well the night mode does.

5G was the one big one I forgot. It is also rumoured to be supported in the 2020 iPhone.
And photon is right, 11 did make the jump to OLED. I’d read somewhere it wouldn’t be ready for the 11 and must have missed it in the announcement (since they call it Super Retina whatever whatever).
Pencil would be interesting. Could see it in a 12 Max I assume, since they now have pencil support for non-pro iPads.
