Default Warrior: Bruce Lee's Martial Arts TV Series

With Into the Badlands ending, thought people might like a new martial arts TV series.

Warrior's got a lot of high grade martial arts and good production values set in 1880s San Francisco during the Chinatown Tong wars. It was a series Bruce Lee was trying to get made before he got killed and involves the same team that made Banshee with Justin Lin of Fast and Furious fame producing.

Three episodes in and action is great. Airs Friday on HBO in Canada.

Watched the first 3 episodes and it is really good. Very violent and brutal but excellent. Tells the story of mainly Irish immigrants and Chinese immigrants and the differences between how the two were treated.

I watched the first episode and it's pretty good. I like the fighting, and there's a lot of conflict right away, so I'm going to watch more!

I've been taping this.

I saw that the producer or Ep or whatever did Banshee, so figured if it was good as Banshee, I would like.

Into the Badlands started pretty good, but kind of got a bit lame, with the sci fi aspects.

So, I ended up watching Season 1, this past week, and I really liked it.
Fighting is great, music is great, characters are great.
The violence is as amped up as Banshee pretty much, and speaking of, there is one character from Banshee in it, and also a bar called Banshee.
Season 2 is a go, but there is no release date yet. can't wait.

I enjoyed it, I thought it was a really good series.

And yeah, some Banshee nostalgia is always nice.

The show is pretty good, but the main character is the probably the worst part. Especially the "forbidden love affair" which has all the explosive chemistry of baking soda mixed with baking soda.

Jason Tobin is clearly the best part of this show. Just make the show about his character.

I like the show but don't understand most of the motivations of the lead character. The don't fit and come across as, well we need them because that's the plot.

Sure, but they had to tie in her expanded role for S2.

Her dad just died during some labor head busting by the Irish on the Chinese in his factory, so now she has the factory. She is married to the mayor, she doesn't like who doled out the contract to her dad. His assistant? just screwed her dad over, etc. etc.

Bet he leads up a new gang of Antifa she is the head of (probably not, but would be cool)

S2 has been great so far really enjoying it. Character motivations are still a bit foggy but now a minor complaint.

I just got to S2 as well. I must say...this sort of over-the-top violence is something that has been sorely lacking in S1. The Director is really channeling 'Banshee' now.

I'd say its a step up. Enjoyed E1.

It's very fun, plus that Edmonton gal who plays the Madam is super hot. Olivia Cheng? Yowza.

Wow. Up to date on Warrior now.

I was a huge fan of 'Banshee' but Season 2 of Warrior is really hitting its stride now.
