It might not be Rook, it might be Rukh, who's a Noghri Assassin who with other Noghri are Thrawn's body guards and were first introduced in the Legends Heir of the Empire books.

At the end of the trilogy Rukh turned on Thrawn and stabbed him in the heart when he found out that Thrawn had been lying to his people for decades about how their planet was poisoned and the efforts that the Empire was putting in to fix it.
The Nogri basically worshipped Vader as their savior and were Thrawns secret commando and assassination squads.
They weren't a major piece of the Legends EU, so I'm not sure that they would be the big villain that they're talking about.

Yeah they basically confirmed its Rukh and being voiced by Warwick Davis. Also Seth Green who played a few roles in TCW's joins the cast in the next episode as an Imperial Captain.

Pretty good episodes again this week, looks like we are building to a final lothal battle. Makes sense. will be interesting to see how Ahsoka ties into all this.

Really interesting episodes this week, they split into the spirituallity of Ezra and Kanan's force journey and the second episode was more in the mundane world of the Empire's exploration of Lothal.
Thoughts on Episode 4-7

this episode was all about connections, the romantic connection between Kaanan and Hera, Ezra's connection with the Loth-Wolfs and Kanaan's connection with the Loth-Wolfs as well.
First of all we got a very sweet moment between Kanan and Hera as they final share a on screen kiss, I can't help but feel that this is going to lead to a lot of heartbreak for Hera as usually in these shows as soon as the guy gets the girl the guy dies horribly. We know that there aren't a lot of Jedi in the future, and the question of Kanan and Ezra's fates is getting closer to being resolved.
We finally met the Noghri, and Rebel's creator Dave Filoni went out of his way to make Ruhk give off the vibe of creepy and deadly efficient as he had no fear of fighting a Jedi, though his role was short in this episode there's no way this isn't the last of him.
Clearly the Loth-Wolfs have a deeper connection with Kanan then with Ezra and they are going to be a part of Kanan's journey from here on, they are using Ezra as a conduit to reach Kanan.
We saw the cave drawings with the Jedi coming down from the sky which answers some questions about why there's a Jedi temple on the planet, clearly the animals on this planet have a deep connection with the force through the planet.
I keep thinking that this is one of the paths or reasons why the Empire is so interested in Lothal. Sure the Tie Factory is important, but clearly the Emperor is after something else on the planet.
The Wolfs have the ability to travel long distances through the Force which allowed the Rebels to escape.
We saw about two seconds of Thrawn tonight, but it was a pretty meaningful two seconds, clearly he's getting tired of Pryce's incompetence and when Hera made an awesome escape by hyperspacing through a construction sphere you could see the murderous look in Thrawn's face.
To be clear his Thrawn is not the same as the Thrawn in the legends EU, you ge the sense that unlike the completely logical and cool and calculating EU Thrawn, this Thrawn underneath it all is a bit of a sociopath.
Are the Wolves linked to Ashoka? I don't know if I believe that they are related, and I remain convinced that she won't be all that involved in the conclusion of this series, I think she's beyond wanting to or being able to help
The animation this year is beautiful, the Wolves walking through the force tunnel was pretty to look at, and even the facial expressions on the characters is really well done, at times you forget that they're animations
Thoughts on episode two

They decided to lighten things up in this episode on one side, and did a strong job of developing Hera on the other.
In this episode they decided to steal a mining guild crawler to use a long range transmitter.
First of all we saw the return of the Trandosians, the mining guild captain is far different for the cold reptilian nasty evil ones that we saw in the Clone Wars.
We also saw the return of Vizago, can Hondo be far behind, I'd love to see him show up and do something heroic.
We also saw the return of Ezra to crawling through conduits as he complained that he doesn't do that anymore.
We had a pretty dark moment where Ezra watches the Crawler Captain falling to a horrible death and he smirks and says watch out.
We finally got a epsiode where Zeb was more then background muscle as he had a great fight scene he also had a great background comedy bit when he goes into the closet and punches out the Captain.
On the Hera side she took another leadership step as she convinces the Rebels to attack Lothal and stop the production of the Tie Elite Defenders. However the Rebels are concerned about the Empire using protocol 13 which is the evacuation of Imperial personal from an occupied planet. Could we be seeing the early events of Rogue One taking place as Jedha was basically evacuated before the test firing of the Death Star.
The Rebels have had a series of small victories over the Empire but you have to feel that we are moving into the tragedy phase of the story as there are only a handful of episodes left.
It could also be possible that if the Rebels beat the Empire at the battle of Lothal that it might be a hollow victory, thinking of Protocal 13 maybe its to do with Lothal, and the Empire who has killed populations to keep things quiet like they did on Geonosis are going to use Protocal 13 on Lothal if they lose the manufacturing plant and Thrawn is going to initiate a Base Delta Zero on Lothal , which could have tragic effects on our Rebel Family.
We know that things are going to come to a head on Lothal, the attack is coming and I have my doubts that they will move this rebel cell away from Lothal at this point in the series.

Great mid season finale episode. Spoiler for those that haven't watched

The Rebel attack on Lothal finally happened, but it was kind of an underwhelming attack as they sent X-Wings and Y-Wings against what looked like a fleet of 8 Star Destroyers, a bunch of cruisers, defense platforms and ground defenses.
Hera defeated the Imperial ace after the Ace disobeyed an order from Thrawn who opened fire on both Hera and him.
The animation for the battle was gorgeous as was the image of crashing X-wings after the attack failed.
Thrawn showed some tactical brilliance as he set up a nice bushwack after Hera got past the blockade.
The second part of the episode was mainly Hera evading capture and being chased down by Ruhk.
Is it weird that I can understand most of what Chopper is saying, when he was hammering on the crashed X-wings cockpit it sounded like Wake up . . . we have to go.
The fight between Ruhk and Hera was good, and eventually sacrificed herself so Chopper and the other pilot could escape.
Kanan decided to go back to rescue Hera but was intercepted by the Lothal Wolf, who gave a message to Kanan who asked "What he had to do" and "I understand", I have a bad feeling about that message.
Really well done episode as we head into the last 7 episodes sometime in December.

I doubt that the Rebels ever destroy the Tie factory as that would be a major rebel victory and the crawl from New Hope is very clear that the battle that took place in Rogue one was the first major victor for the Rebellion
This episode probably explains why the Rebellion was hesitant in committing their forces in Rogue One, this was their first major offensive and it was a crushing defeat.
My gut feeling is that the Loth-Wolf told Kanan that Hera would die unless he took her place, that would explain his conversation with Matt Mattin at the end and also why they gave Hera and Kanan had that nice kiss moment.

Bump, I just got done reading the Star Wars book Thrawn. For those of you that are Rebel fans, I can easily say that this is the book that the New EU finally got right, and you get some great back story on not only Thrawn, but also Governor Pryce of Lothal, who's character beginnings are surprising.
Timothy Zahn who I really considered average in terms of legends EU, has written the best book so far of the New EU.
I also just finished inferno squad, it does a good job of introducing the characters in Battlefront 2, but while it was solid, it just didn't stand out.
