Pyrrhic victory. May is safe for now but has agreed to stand down prior to the next election which could happen sooner rather than later with a Brexit non-confidence vote looming.

Specifically she's agreed to not run in the next general election in 2022. She hasn't said she wouldn't run if a snap election was called before then.
A lot of people are saying the public should have a vote on the final deal as well.
We have family that were strong for brexit but have turned against in the last couple of months- the deal they were told Britain would get didn’t happen.

Not really. There never was any real threat of her not surviving the vote and even given that she had to promise not to run in the next election and still had 117 vote against her.
She also as it stands has virtually zero chance of getting her Brexit deal as it stands through the house with the EU saying the agreement is not up for renegotiation.

Yeah but that won't happen.

And they are surprised? The very next morning after the vote the backtracking on the promises started particularly this gem.
Accountability: Difference between business and politics.
Another vote today, tried to look into it but kept getting confused. Can someone help me understand what is going on with this whole situation?
they basically decide on how to leave. If the vote is in favour, then May survives and they leave the EU with a deal. If not, then well, ####'s going down.
I don't see what the big deal with having a second referendum is. When they had the first one, no one knew the terms. Now they know the terms, they should be able to have a say. It's like being asked if you want desert but you haven't looked at the menu yet so you say yes. Then you get the desert menu and it's full of turds and dirt. No one would expect you to still order desert. Yet May seems insistent on shoving turds and dirt down everyone's throat.

Why would anyone in Britain want to leave the EU without a deal? (course why would they want to leave the EU at all?!!)
Is there massive Trump koolaid being dispensed over there?
it's crazy, isn't it? If you even just spend 2 minutes and think about it rationally, there's simply nothing that would make you think "what a great idea!"
the short (and sad) answer is that right-wing populism has been a massive problem here in Europe and some #### papers like the Sun have spent years brainwashing the people in England. And for the politicians it's been simply political warfare and party over everything else.

Well if the people vote for something shouldn't it be the politicians responsibility to get a deal done? Not act like a bunch of children in parliament? Because what it seems like is happening here.
How could you seriously have a referendum ever again?

Well.. i guess suck it Brits. The racists will make everyone pay!
Notley should start a huge marketing campaign over there for the non-deplorable Brits to move to Canada before the British Pound completely devalues. Cheap houses and real football....

I know nothing about the intricacies of Brexit, but couldn't the Queen step in and essentially say that Britain is not leaving the EU and put a stop to the entire process?
